Pokemon developer Game Freak has not had a good week as their mainline Pokemon game series plans up to 2030 leaked yesterday. With the leak came plenty of other Pokemon-related tidbits such as the team is considering remakes of the Nintendo DS games Pokemon Black & White. In documentation which was leaked, Game Freak believes the titles didn’t meet player expectations and so when they do get round to remaking them they will try and go all out on them.
Game Freak has been talking internally about Pokemon Black & White remakes

The only reason that they think they “didn’t meet players expectations” is because they are the lowest selling games of the series but that was mostly due to Pokémon generally being in a lull at the time and some didn’t like the fact that it was an all new set of monsters only. However, these games are now regarded by many to be the high point of the series especially in light of how lacklustre the games have been since so I hope they don’t mess around with them too much. It seems that Gamefreak literally only base whether they think they’ve done a good job on sales figures, which is telling and explains why the quality keeps dipping with many elements that were appreciated in earlier titles disappearing. Hopefully sales will drop on future games so they can get their act together.
No thank you. Please give me a Emerald remake cel shaded same art as the original not modern Pokémon art. Open world like Arceus and 2D anime cutscenes. If no anime cutscenes its still fine
just play the originals then, let them remake it properly.
If technical machines are single use, I won’t buy it.
They aren’t single use.
I remember hating it when I first played it, I finished it, but it felt like a chore. After all the hype it’s been getting, I decided to go back to it and give it another shot as an adult, and it’s still a no from me. This generation was by far my least favorite.
Scarlet and Violet has bad graphics, terrible bug problems and rough framerates because it didn’t meet fans expectations. This is why Gamefreak needs to take their time on developing the game instead of being completely rush like other mainline games like sword and shield. People always wanted all Pokemons be available in each gen.
bad graphics, terrible bug problems, rough framerate and one of the best pokemon games i played. fans weren’t happy with performance not with the game itself.
As someone who’s played since Pokemon first came to America, Black and White and their sequels were my favorite entries by far. Sure, I enjoy all Pokemon games, but Black[2] and White[2] were my favs.
I’d love to see an HD-2D remake faithful to the way the originals looked, but touched up so it doesn’t look like an awful blurry pixelated mess on the big screen.
Personally, I’d like to see Black and White remade with Scarlet/Violet graphics.
Ports would be more ideal, but so long as they don’t make half the game a day one large external download like bdsp, they should be good. It will be hard to ruin these classics, but modern pokemon will try their best to make paying 200 bucks for the older scalped versions seem appealing all the same
I loved 5th gen even tho i didn’t play it on release but round about when 7th gen came out, i bought it and honestly the story was one of the best, both BW and B2W2.
I don’t want a 2D Remake as the last ones sucked and sort of ruined continuity with the remake timelines, I want the style of the current games but with HD graphics, HQ Animations and HQ 3D Models and a big open world but actually have all of this and not half-assed job gamefreak did with SV.
I don’t want bugs, I don’t want pop-in, I want to be able to enter buildings and houses again.
I hope these connect with the current games sonehow the way the DLC did.
this is big news about Game Freak’s leaked plans! It’s super interesting that they’re already talking about Black & White remakes. The part where they admit the originals didn’t meet expectations and want to ‘go all out’ for the remakes really caught my eye. Hopefully, they deliver!!
