Starting October 28th, Donkey Kong Bananza will feature monthly in-game events on Nintendo Switch 2. Players who own the paid DLC DK Island + Emerald Rush and have finished the main game’s story can participate in limited-time events to earn exclusive in-game statues.
During each event period, players can tackle a special Emerald Rush challenge that shakes up the usual formula by setting some fixed conditions, such as the Emerald Perks they can obtain from fossils and Banandium Gems. When selecting an Emerald Perk from three choices, the options presented to players will remain the same during each run.
Achieving the challenge’s target scores will be rewarded with certain statues and Banandium Chips, which can be exchanged for standard statues. Players can retry the challenge as many times as they’d like within the event period.
The first event,“Chip Fever”, will take place from October 28th at 8:00 BST until November 4th at 7:59 BST. During this time, players can smash their way through DK Island for a chance to collect statues of Enguarde and Kong Bananza.

Nothing about this sounds fun or stimulating at all.
Yep, never been a fan of single player games with monthly events and other FOMO stuff. That’s more suited for multiplayer games.
I’m likely not going to jump back as my backlog if already too big, but this is a great way to continue adding value to the game.
only adding value to the dlc wich is still to low
Really would prefer if they just simply added these things rather than have them be limited time events. That takes the fun out of it all.
I enjoyed DK Bananza. I preordered it and played it to 100%. But the DLC feels a bit like a slap in the face being some weird paid addon that does so little and being released so close to the game launch that it feels like they simply removed content to sell separately. They should have left the end game as is, or just given this update as a free update to entice others to buy the full game and reward those who had faith enough to buy this game early. Making it paid kind of sours the experience a little.
