Nintendo celebrates one year anniversary of Nintendo Music

Nintendo has put up a news post celebrating the fact that Nintendo Music application is now one year old. Sadly they haven’t unleashed a batch of new soundtracks, but there’s more than enough great tunes for you to enjoy on the service at the moment. We heard earlier this week that Nintendo is aware of the demand for the Mario Kart World soundtrack to be added to the service though they wouldn’t specify when it will happen.

  1. I know people mostly overlook this app, and that people have their problems with it (the omission of credits, etc.), but I must say that my personal enjoyment of it couldn’t be overstated.
I don’t think it’ll outperform Spotify when it comes to my personal listening habits, but this app is truly phenomenal in so that it really captures that “Nintendo magic” vibe, has zero commercials or advertisements and has genuinely good tailored and curated playlists.

  2. The functionality and playlists are great. I really like the app, but the molasses drip-feed of content and which titles they choose to add are baffling. I’m sure there are legal and technical hurdles, but after a whole year, the amount of games’ soundtracks on the app is downright embarrassing. I would use the app so much more if it had more music from their library.

  3. I have this app because sometimes I don’t feel like going to YT for some songs when I carve listening to ones available on the app. Wish the app had more but Nintendo has a habit of trickle releases.
