It’s nearing that time of the year again when the annual Golden Joystick Awards take place. Today the nominees have just been announced for Game of the Year. Nintendo has one game in the running this year with Donkey Kong Bananza and there’s a few third party games which are currently available on Nintendo Switch 2 such as Hollow Knight: Silksong and Hades II. Voting is now live and you can do so now with the Golden Joystick Award Show happening on 20th November.
- Indiana Jones and The Great Circle
- Ghost of Yotei
- Hollow Knight: Silksong
- Blue Prince
- Death Stranding 2: On The Beach
- Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
- Silent Hill f
- Hades II
- Split Fiction
- Peak
- Donkey Kong Bananza
- Kingdom Come: Deliverance II

This is gonna come down to Expedition 33 or Ghost of Yotei
Silksong, Hades 2 or Expedition 33. That’s the front 3 but honestly can’t see past Silksong
I hope DK Banaza wins. And if it does the developers need to get right away for the sequel and squeeze it into the Switch 2 life cycle if they start early enough. Otherwise fans will need to fork over $550 on Switch 3 just to play the sequel because they took too long to get started.
Do you not get tired of saying the exact same thing over and over again?
I don’t think he does, no. He’s been at this for what feels like years now.
@Gruntilda – we waited 25 years for a second 3D Donkey kong game, expect another 25 😂
Thanks! I voted for Donkey Kong Bananza. I also voted for Kingdom Come II because my scrupulosity wouldn’t let me not pick it, and the Indiana Johnes game because the remaining options were pretentions and/or lame. And yes, I know silksong was on the list. By the time it took for that boring indie spinoff to that boring indie game to come out, we could’ve gotten a new Mega Man title for each main line series. I would have gladly voted for Mario Kart World and Pokemon Legends ZA. What can I say? This has been a good year for Nintendo so far, no matter what those with Nintendo derangement syndrome say.
The only one of these I’ve played was Bananza, and while it’s an incredible game, I’m not sure Nintendo deserves to win anything this year while they’re on their current path. The developers deserve the praise, absolutely, but the business side of the company, not a chance.
Death Stranding 2 is a total masterpiece.
Exciting to see such a diverse lineup for the Golden Joystick Awards! Can’t wait to cast my vote. In the meantime, I discovered this unique game スプランキー that combines music and horror elements. Looks like a blast!
