The jury is still out there on how reliable movie insider Daniel Richtman is, but for now Richtman has shared a few titbits on the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 4 movie which is due out in cinemas in March 2027. One of the more concerning points Richtman has made is that the movie will purportedly contain romanic comedy elements, which may come as a concern to some. Here’s the latest batch of rumours for the Sonic 4 movie:
- Plot about the Bad Future and time travels
- Silver won’t appear
- The name might be changed to Sonic CD
- The biggest budget and new quality level
- Romantic comedy elements

Those three points are a very red flag for me. I have no good
feeling how the end result will look like when I remember back
how bad the third movie was. I am afraid what those people will
make Amy Rose. Remember, these are not the 80s anymore,
these times are full of “Cancel Culture” and “modern audience”
that doesn’t exist.
I am aware, that people want to bring a medium to more people,
but the truth is, that most of those people don’t care or simply want
to see something burn, that is not okay in their eyes. And that
companies really believe that they need to change for those
people, even though they don’t support them in the first place, and
alienate their real fans, is something that wonders me so much.
Those companies are aware of the damage they could get, and
yet, the blindly trust those “Twitter/X People” and wonder why
it backfires lately.
I, for myself and to protect my love for the Sonic franchise, will not
watch this for such. I can imagen how they will change Amy Rose, when
I only watch how female characters changed between 2015 and today.
I hope, that this will change one day, not for me, but for the sake of
making good stories and movies. We really lost this ability lately when
I watch tv, cinema or comics. We mustn’t let this happen or let people
cancel stuff because it is wrong in their eyes.
Sorry for the text of wall, but I needed to get this off my chest, because my
fear for the future of our kind is growing daily.

The 3rd movie is awful. Jim Carey and all the human characters ruined it the weird comedy too.
Honestly the movie had very little time to breathe, and it should’ve been a closer adaptation to SA2 with its tone.

Pokemon Z-A was a huge success and still people hate it and call it a horrific failure. Just because something make money, doesn’t mean it is good. Besides, have you cut all the cost from the box office? Only then, you will see what they really got.

Complaining about the human cast os ridiculous. Sonic’s foe is a human since day 1 in the games. The human cast of the movies isn’t going anywhere. The movie had way more plot than the game it adapts ever did. Knuckles actually does something relevant instead of just hunting the Master Emerald pieces for the nth time, Shadow’s heel-face turn is way more organic than it was in the game and Gerald is a villain instead of the retcon he received from Shadow the Hedgehog on.

Yeah imagine someone getting their feathers ruffled over me thinking Amy is hot.. Still not changing my opinion though. But I will say one thing, her model is much better in SA1 than in the sequel IMO. I’m not sure what happened there, but it is what it is.
