Nintendo reveals what each amiibo does in Metroid Prime 4

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond‘s release is drawing ever closer and today Nintendo has revealed what each amiibo does in the eagerly-anticipated game. This includes the range of amiibo launching alongside the game as well as older Metroid amiibo you may have nestled sway in your collection. Check out down below to see what amiibo does what.

Samus & Viola [Metroid Prime 4] amiibo:

  • You will be able to change the color of Viola.
  • Every time you touch your amiibo, you can check Viola’s total distance traveled.
  • Once per day, you can increase the rate at which Viola’s Boost Energy regenerates.

Samus [Metroid Prime 4] amiibo:

  • You can now change the background music when riding Viola in Solvalei.
  • Once per day, you can activate a shield that will block up to 99 damage.
  • When the shield is activated, Samus’s life is also restored to full.

Sylux [Metroid Prime 4] amiibo:

  • After clearing the game, you’ll be able to see the full versions of the movies that are shown in fragments throughout the game. Even if you don’t have amiibo, you can watch the full version of the movie by achieving a 100% scan rate and item collection rate.
  • Every time you touch your amiibo, you’ll hear a random line from Sylux.

Any Metroid series, Samus (Super Smash Bros. series), Zero Suit Samus (Super Smash Bros. series), Ridley (Super Smash Bros. series), and Dark Samus (Super Smash Bros. series) Amiibo:

  • The game sounds are played randomly.

    1. Metroid Samus Returns did a similar thing with the Fusion difficulty mode. They locked it behind the Samus amiibo. I don’t recall if they did anything like this with the Dread amiibo, but I wouldn’t be surprised if so.

      1. Also, forgot to say, I’m not saying it’s a good or bad thing. Just noting that it’s happened before, but maybe if enough people are bothered by it and they make enough of a fuss Nintendo might change amiibo functionality for the next Metroid game

      2. I wish I still had my 3DS and Samus Returns, so I could give the Fusion Mode another try. After beating Dread on every difficulty, I’m more geared toward harder difficulties in my Metroid games. I still need to finish Metroid Prime Remastered on the hard difficulty.
