  1. I’m definitely getting the SW1 version with the SW2 upgrade because as I said with PLZA, I don’t like the boxart of the SW2 but I do like how the case being red. Maybe in the future I’ll buy empty SW2 cases for every SW1 with SW2 that I have.

    1. I also wanna point out that this game comes out 6 days before Mega Dimensions meaning December is going to be a busy month for me, especially if I focus on PLZA and if I do shiny hunting in the DLC.

    2. I’m wondering if there will be a difference between the Switch & Switch 2 icons for the game. I might follow your plan and get whichever version I like of the icons. I’m kinda hoping I like the Switch icon over the Switch 2 icon, so I’ll have an excuse to get it on Switch since I can’t get a Switch 2 yet. I can just play it on Hard mode whenever I do get a Switch 2.

    3. There’s no such thing as a Switch 1, so I guess you’ll be SOL when you go shopping. Be a real gamer, buy the S2 digital copy and quit bitching about useless physical copies.

    1. It’s the players who complain and then games get made easier, it’s what happened to Super Mario World, early play tests made them dumb it down. Shame, while there are some moderately challenging levels here and there.. a lot of the game is easy/mid difficulty.

It seems to have carried over with pretty much all the mainline Mario games. 3D Land and World made it so you only got harder levels after you beat the main game too.

    2. Agreed. I really hated that i had to play through a normal run of skyward sword on switch just to unlock the hard difficulty. Would have been fine if there was an easy way to download and load up a fully unlocked save file someone posts online.

  2. I hate when harder difficulty has to be unlocked, games are too easy and you only experience them for the first time once. Honestly really hate that. Options should not be Unlockable

  3. I agree that there should be the option of a hard mode straight away, I mean just why not, it makes perfect sense and then you can unlock a major difficulty like dread mode in Metroid dread.
It’s really annoying, I actually held off playing totk for a while in the hope the master mode would be available, but never happened, I actually play this by only consuming meals at a fire/pit else what’s the point, u can just pause the game after you’ve been hit and eat a load of apples or peppers etc and ‘voila, full health again, so silly.

  4. I am also a big boy gamer and think games are too easy! I can’t believe Nintendo expects me to play a Metroid game more than once! What am I supposed to do? Try to improve my playtime and finish the game quicker for rewards? Pfft! I just need to play it once on hard mode so I can brag to everyone that I did it!

    1. The crazy thing is, most of the people crying about having to unlock Hard mode are probably the casuals who normally play CoD, Destiny, GTA, etc. The real gamers don’t have to loudly proclaim they need a tougher challenge, they want to experience and explore the game first then go back for a second or third round and challenge themselves once they know the mechanics.

I used to start every game on the hardest difficulty too, and I would almost always succeed, but I wouldn’t have good memories of those games when I was finished. Ever since I grew up and took a step back, my gaming has improved tenfold. We real gamers understand growth is necessary, and there’s never a problem with accessibility.
