Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa has shared more information about the state of the company and its plans for 2026 in an interview with Japanese news site Kyoto Shimbun. There were a lot of points discussed but one important thing is that stock of the Nintendo Switch 2 has now stabilised on a global scale meaning that it should now be easy to go to a store and get a unit. Those hoping for more news about the upcoming The Legend of Zelda Movie should be made aware that Nintendo is planning a gradual approach with drip feeding of information and media. • Nintendo says there are people who pick up their first console when reaching a certain age, and Nintendo wants to make sure the Switch 2 is accessible for them
  • the current memory price has no immediate impact on Nintendo’s financial performance
  • concerning the potential for a price increase on products, Furukawa said, “I cannot comment on hypotheticals”
  • Nintendo will further enhance their software offerings from 2026 onwards.
  • Furukawa says Nintendo is “developing popular series titles that many fans are waiting for, but also completely new software”
  • Furukawa wants to build excitement leading up to The Super Mario Galaxy Movie

  1. “[We’re] developing popular series titles that many fans are waiting for, but also completely new software”
Oh good, I was afraid the company known for developing new and popular titles would stop making new and popular titles

      1. Xbox Games Studios. Microsoft Studios they stopped with that branding I think its Microsoft Gaming. Not that they do good outside Ninja Gaiden 4. Phil and his team need to be fired already.

      1. They should. Also Nintendo should finally buy publishers buy Square Enix first downsize them make Mario RPG 2, Chrono Trigger remake, and give Xenogears to Monolith. Then buy Sega have their anime studio TMS make anime based on Nintendo IP and Sega also Sega can make new F-Zero games.

      2. Also Pandoras Tower and The Last Story finally remaster or port those. Kid Icarus Uprising too. Honestly Devils Third too.

      1. Rumor is February but Nintendo Directs have been like Sony shows they take forever they’re either bad or mid and they are holding back for far too long. Directs used to be the best shows especially the June show. Hope third parties really show up.

  2. “Nintendo would like to establish a system to release more films beyond these Mario and Zelda”
Please say Star Fox and Metroid.

  3. If they do anime please Fire Emblem start again with Marth then progress, other series too like the Detective One, Pokemon The Origin, Kirby again, Mario, Zelda, F Zero again, Mother, Tokyo Mirage Sessions, Astral Chain, Kid Icarus, Pikmin, go all in 2D anime.

    1. I don’t think he was or is the problem. Doug Bowser was the problem. In terms of wanting to “westernize” Nintendo and get into film outside anime. The bigger issue is Illumination has people on the board.

  4. I appreciate the detailed breakdown of Old Monk prices and bottle sizes—it’s very helpful for planning purchases. Including cocktail recipes alongside the tasting notes is a great touch for newcomers. One suggestion: adding a section on where to buy locally or online could make the site even more useful. https://oldmonkprice.com/
