Ubisoft has sadly revealed that after all this time they have decided to cancel the long-awaited Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake. There were five other games canceled by the French developer which were an assortment of new IPs and a mobile game. The company has also shuttered two studios and laid off a number of employees in a major restricting bid.

Thia ia what I’m worried many developers, especially indies, will face once GTA VI will be on the market. I mean, Ubisoft did this to itself after screwing up many prorjects AND torturing its employes, so it’s not exactly the same thing. But my point is, I think once GTA VI will release on the market pretty much every developers on the planet that are not Rockstar or Sony (as it gets 30% of the money from each copy of the game, and from a game which predecessor did 220 millions, it will be potentially more than even PS5 already brought to them…) will face serious trouble like Ubisoft, even thought it won’t be their fault like the latter.
I stand for what I say guys: GTA VI it’s extreme dangerous for gaming as whole, even for Nintendo despite being different targets. And when that game releases, gamers will cut the strings to every other games in existence, bringing the entire industry on the verge of the collapse. It’s not “just a game”, it’s “just the successor of the best selling console game in existence”, that can’t not mean anything to you… let’s enjoy what it comes before November, because if things will go as I predict once that game comes out, a dark age expects gaming for all of us, one that we don’t know how long it will last…

The PoP remake was scrapped and restarted not a top seller in years and AC has been going downhill, Far Cry 6 I believe flopped, Division 2 was a shock flop to them, and other titles like that Avatar game. The future plan for them is the same old one annual releases of their games and games as a service titles and open world slop because they have China investment money to burn. They cancelled stuff that was a mess not that they are fixing it. Far Cry, AC, and Rainbow 6 will be annual now and remain.

It’s gets worse for Sony as the list goes down. They don’t even rank until the mid 40’s on that all time selling list.
By then Nintendo has already 17 game on that list before Sony’s TLoU.
MS has about 8 with the biggest one being the one that matters the most: Minecraft which is to this date the best selling game period.
Couple that with reports and leaks of Sony losing money on just about everything they make (aside from the revenue on Plus) why anyone would even think that out of the 3 of them, Sony is the one to survive in the next couple years is beyond me.
Yeah no one under 30 is losing their minds for GTA 6. The Fortnite, Genshin, Roblox, Minecraft, and even Nintendo people will stuck with what they have. GTA 5 was a different era now Fortnite is the biggest game not GTA and with Rockstar being a mess not sure how it launches the staff are still striking I think and let’s see if they go $100. The popular games are freemium not pay for. Also Ananta on the way too and that’s free.

AAA gaming is in a horrible place right now, I don’t quite see a way out. Budgets are bloating as expectations rise, but how do you make a return when you’re competing with now 2 decades of releases on digital storefronts, many of the greatest games of all time that routinely go on sale for a fiver. Furthermore, pretty much all these companies are now corporate shells of what they once were (even Nintendo are moving that way) and have zero creativity.
Ubisoft are in hindsight, the worst of the worst in this regard, because they have been one the most soulless of them for a long time, and don’t have a great dependable staple to fall back on like FIFA (or whatever they call it these days) for EA, COD for Activision or Mario for Nintendo.
