Nintendo has issued a software update for both The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The update for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom brings the acclaimed adventure to Version 1.4.3 and fixes an issue with the Black Hinox in Hyrule Castle, which meant that you couldn’t obtain the Hinox Monster Medal. The Kyoto-based company has also addressed several undisclosed issues to make the experience just that bit better.
Latest update: Ver. 1.4.3 (Released February 17, 2026)
General
- Fixed an issue causing the Black Hinox in Hyrule Castle to appear as undefeated even after being defeated, preventing players from obtaining the Hinox Monster Medal. By downloading the update data, players will be able to obtain the Hinox Monster Medal.
- Several other issues have been addressed to improve the gameplay experience.

But does it fix the main issue with the game, the garbage Ultrahand gimmick? TotK is the worst main series Zelda title and it’s not even up for debate. It’s the reason Nintendo almost immediately after launch announced they were dropping the Wild era format and going back to a more traditional design. It’s the reason they almost immediately announced no DLC for the game. Yes it sold a lot, off the continuous hype of BotW, and many people consider BotW the greatest game ever (it’s nowhere close, it’s just barely a passable Zelda game), but TotK hyp dropped almost immediately after launch because of how bad it is.
Lazy design, lazy maps, lazy puzzles that are all easily broken thanks to the lazy Ultrahand gimmick that took them 6 years to build. The only good thing is the narrative is passable and the final battle is phenomenal. The rest is 100% trash and anyone who disagrees needs to go play some more games than BotW and TotK
It’s tradition, someone complains about good and popular games. Also did you play Totk? It fixes many issues from botw like a more Complicated story, better dungeons, better bosses, and a more open sandbox experienc.
It is perfectly fine to dislike a game without it “being garbage”, you know.
A lot of, if not most, people who played it clearly liked it since it has immensely good user scores (not to mention the roaring critic scores) so clearly it is not objectively bad.
Besides, the game is almost three years old; if you are still this irritable over it, I suggest you try to find a way to get over your anger.
Thanks for that laugh… it’s like a Trump supporter claiming that Trump does things right.
@Sofiona
How does a trump supporter complain about trump doing things right? That’s the TDS who do that. he finds a cure for cancer and all the trump haters will complain about it and claim that cancer is actually a good thing.
Considering that Trump’s IQ is on the single digits, for you to even make the hypothetical that trump of all people could find the cure for cancer, is just plain stupid.
“They said it could never be done- I could never do it. But I made the biggest cancer cure ever. Nobody’s ever seen a cancer cure so big. It’s the biggest cure they’ve ever seen. Never been anything like it before. And it’s a pill you take. Massive pill. I asked them to make it gold. And we’re calling it… the Big Beautiful Pill. Cures cancer. You have cancer and you take this Big Beautiful Pill and you don’t have cancer anymore. Can you believe that?”
All you missed was him saying that he’s much smarter than cancer 🤣 otherwise, pretty spot on.
I liked ultrahand and fuse. I guess our opinions cancel out each other.
What a garbage take, just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean you are correct. I guarantee I’ve played, and beaten, more games than you have. I bet you are a blast in person. 🖕
Another loser looking for attention. 😂
Pathetic ragebaiting little kid.
@Robyn W
your name should be Robyn L. Ultrahand is actually a very fun mechanic, you can claim it’s “lazy” and “garbage” but it’s your opinion, a factually incorrect opinion. You seem like the type who only played for like 5mins, call it quits and base your “opinion” off that 5mins just like an activist disguising themselves as “journalist” would do to actually fun games. But hey, that’s not just a Theory, it’s a Fact. Thanks for watching.
0/10 bait, do better next time
You make a good point.
Well it isn’t up for debate so there’s no point in responding lol
I don’t like when Nintendo is vague with the update descriptions. Give me the nitty gritty details what’s the harm? I think the small details and fixes are interesting.
I actually like when patch notes are fun and make it sound like an in-universe change. I want to make a fighting game at one point where the patch notes are like “Character X remembered to do maintenance on his guns; his POW POW POW! shots now fire every 0.4 seconds, down from 0.6”
Framed like that, it makes them fun to read.
