IGN: Pokemon Winds and Waves region based on Southeast Asia

We got our first look at Pokemon Winds and Pokemon Waves yesterday during The Pokemon Presents presentation and it looks to be shaping up to be something special. The games are Nintendo Switch 2 exclusives, which mean that they should take advantage of the more powerful hardware and won’t be constrained by the original Nintendo Switch console. IGN has confirmed that the games take inspiration from the Philippines, Indonesia, and Malaysia with many users from those countries excitedly proclaiming that various landmarks found in the trailer largely resemble those seen in the Philippines and surrounding areas. Pokemon Winds and Pokemon Waves launch in 2027.

  1. I don’t know why, but this keeps reminding me of the wind waker. But this game looks great and I love the setting. Great representation.

It would be nice to get a gym leader like Sagat from Street Fighter 2 on pokemon waves and winds. He would be better than that ugly loser called Avery in Galar.
