Sonic voice actor Roger Craig Smith has taken part in a new interview with Variety during which he revealed he will be joining IGN Live in June “to reveal something tied to Sonic’s big birthday.” He wouldn’t be drawn into revealing anything about the project, stating that he has signed multiple NDA’s, but it will certainly be something to look out for as we head into the post-E3 season. Here’s what he said:
“What I know that I can say is that I’m extremely excited to be a part of this,” Smith said, when asked if he’ll be joining IGN Live to reveal something tied to Sonic’s big birthday. “It is such a cool event, and I cannot wait to get out there and be a part of the energy that’s in that room, and get to participate in whatever way they want us to participate. It’s gonna be a very, very fun event. I wish I could give more details and that kind of thing, but I think that’s for IGN to spill the beans on, and I will play it safe and just go: I’m excited, I can’t wait to be in Los Angeles and be a part of this massive, massive event. It’s the worst thing about my job, I would violate all the NDAs. There’s exciting stuff coming down the pike and I am so stoked for the 35th anniversary of Sonic the Hedgehog. There couldn’t be a better time to be a part of something like that. So I’m tight lipped but expressing my intrigue and my excitement, we’ll leave it there.”
I really hope it’s a new Sonic game instead of Crossworlds DLC or that rumored Frontiers Definitive edition; it has been nearly 4 years since the last NEW mainline Sonic game, and I believe we are LONG overdue💯
New game is next year probably a reveal end of the year. I’m hoping Heroes remake but yeah seems the other things you said are more likely.

I’d rather it be a release for next year. Modern games need extra time to be good, and I want a good Sonic game like what we got with Shadow Generations
Shadow Generations was ok but story was ass. Also that did not take long and it was an expansion. Frontiers is trash and took 4 years like this current next game is and that game will be Frontiers 2 in every way.
In what way is Shadow Generations’ story “ass”? I won’t argue about Frontiers because that game is very understandably hit or miss for people.

Actually this may not be Sonic. Seeing reports saying its another game and many assume Injustice 3 with Roger as Batman.
Roger has clarified it has nothing to do with Sonic he’s just hyping the event and will there hosting. Hope is Injustice 3 now with him as Batman.

Probably not. Unless it’s another YouTube thing. But the last 2 half hour animated series failed Boom and Prime. Not a lot of options to fund another unless they go anime. Netflix is out, the French are out so that leaves Asia.
Bleh, the series, just like the Simpsons, should have died years ago. It’s running on fumes. Also, RCS is an untalented hack who got into voice acting by backdoor deals.
Honestly if it catered to Gen Z nostalgia over whatever it is now the series would be better the voice cast from that era, remakes from that era, new games from those sub series, those writers, and new anime. This is what would sell not whatever Sonic is now a franchise ruined by weirdos and entitled millennials who never liked the series but used it as the butt if their joke and to stroke their egos.

Webber helped push out Nagoshi and is not great also pushed the many story issues Forces had making them remove things he deemed “too dark”. Flynn assisted with trash like that too also Boom and his weird ships. His writing is awful as was Frontiers which he wrote but now tries to lie saying he only wrote dialouge. Shadow Generations story was ass too and his comics are awful at IDW without editord he is a mess. He basically writes his weird fanfiction like where Sally Acorn gets shot to death or Shadow rapes characters the guy is messed up his old now deleted tweets show that.
4Kids did not allow accurate translation of Sonic X, I guess the original Japanese dub would’ve pushed it into PG for some episodes if it were like that in English.
The music is still classic also a redub would be great now put it on Netflix faithful translation. Instead of wasting money on a all new cartoon.
