Pokemon Champions developer apologies for issues and says fixes are on way

Pokemon Champions has not launched in the way that The Pokemon Company would have hoped as numerous issues have been found with the game and it’s a clear case of the game needing more time in the oven before launching. Thankfully the development team are aware of the issues and have apologised and said that fixes are on the way. It should be noted that they have had only listed a small number of bugs with the full number currently unknown. Here’s what they said:

“Thank you for enjoying Pokémon Champions,” reads a note from the game’s developer, posted online today. “We have confirmed that the following issues are currently occurring:”

  • The description of the “Leech Seed” state is incorrect. Incorrect: Takes damage equal to 1/16 of maximum HP. Correct: Takes damage equal to 1/8 of maximum HP. However, the calculation is correct during battle.
  • Under certain conditions, when both Pokémon Mega Evolve simultaneously, the order may be unintended.
  • The gender of some Pokémon in the tutorial is incorrect.
  • The gender of some Pokémon in the released coordinated teams is incorrect.
  • When in Encore state, the ability “Lightning Rod” may not activate correctly.
  • When viewing move details during battle, if you hover the cursor over “Mega Evolution” and press the B button, you cannot select the move. If this phenomenon occurs, you can avoid the inability to select the move by opening and closing the surrender window with the “-” button.

“The above bugs are scheduled to be fixed in future data updates or maintenance,” the note continues. “We will continue to investigate other issues not mentioned above. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Thank you for your continued support of Pokémon Champions.”

  1. DontLetPokemonKeepScammingYou

Fifty Dollars per year Paid Subscription for a Pokémon Champions Subscription, plus not included Pokémon Champions Micro Transactions, plus Pokémon Home Paid Subscription, Plus Nintendo Online Paid Subscription, on top of a Monthly Internet Bill. If You complain about this being said than you are part of the problem and are actively defending these practices, helping to these big corporations by publicly attacking and and bringing down people and posts speaking out against it for you the consumer, and you are helping make gaming landscape as a whole worse. If you don’t like my comment, how about keeping it to yourself because people like you only are hurting the gaming landscape for all for leaving negative replies to those who speak out against bad practices. You say you don’t care, than don’t comment. Also Mic, go put some deodorant on.

    1. While I’m not defending the practices, some of what you said is incorrect. No Nintendo switch online account is required to play Pokemon champions or to battle online in Pokemon champions. Pokémon Home has limited functionality without a subscription, that being you can only store about 30 Pokemon, and you can transfer Pokemon from the Nintendo switch games without a subscription but not the 3DS games.

      1. Correct me if I am wrong, but I am pretty sure most free games on the switch don’t require switch online like fortnite.

    2. Oh wahhhh ….”I’d you disagree with me you are evil and a corporate shill”.

Oh and you think this post will make a thousandths of a percent of a difference to what matters? Get over yourself. Have a calm and real discussion or F off. No one needs this shallow nonsense.

Now about that small sliver of ACTUAL comment before you started to rant about criticism.

The actual problem with your comments is it’s EXTREMELY misrepresenting the game.

The game is free, all of the packs are optional (so you actively chose to spend money if you did), and of course you didn’t mention rh cheaper packs for those not willing to go all in but still willing to pay a little.

  2. I mean I agree about hating Pokemon’s predatory practices (selling under baked products, charging for all these subscriptions and passes that don’t actually provide anything of value) but you don’t need to attack anyone over it

      1. Anonymous Skywalker

Maybe they are but they are nothing compared to giga predatory practices from Ubisoft, Activision and EA, to name a few.

    1. I think they were being attacked before over it, its probably why they are bringing up people replying to them. It’s a huge problem in the Pokemon Community that caused many to just step away. You say anything against gamefreak a whole army of cultists come to attack and silence you and devalue whatever criticism you have against the brand.

      1. But at the same time much of what they said was inaccurate or mispresentative.

So if they were pasting that same comment elsewhere they deserved pushback and then got salty about it because they think they’re some rebel making a heroic call to action and NOT and entitled gamer that expects everything they don’t want to pay for to be free.

You can call out bad practices without misrepresenting the facts. Pokemon champions certainly released in a poor state. But it’s pricing model is relatively fair.

The big pricey subscription is intended for those who are BIG into competitive or don’t own a Pokemon game on switch. It’s not for people that immediately make posts complaining about it.

It’s like complaining professional sports equipment is over priced when the cheap casual equipment is offered in th same store.

        1. You are defending one of the crappiest game franchises of all time, don’t care sbout how much money it makes, modern pokemon is scum garbage, and you are licking it up. Criticism isn’t being entitled. You are a boot licker.

        2. The only untitled person I’m seeing is you Metazoxan, not to mention annoying. Getting triggered because of somebody elses comment. People like you ruin gaming and live in a bubble not wanting to accept reality.

          1. If you don’t think modern Pokemon is scamming people while delivering the worst and laziest products possible you are delusional and not even worth speaking to. You are brainwashed

    2. Predatory practices would mean locking 90% of Pokémon and items behind multiple paywalls, DLC, battle passes along with seasonal passes, MTX and “surprise mechanics”. Missing Pokémon and items are likely a bug.
