SEGA announces LEGO Mega Drive

Today, SEGA and LEGO announced the new SEGA Genesis Console, which will be available for purchase on June 1, 2026, for $39.99 / £34.99 / €39.99.

The model is inspired by and pays homage to SEGA’s original gaming console, an icon for gamers worldwide. Bringing together the best of creativity and a love for retro gaming, this 479-piece display model allows builders to customise their creation into either the SEGA Genesis or SEGA Mega Drive version, complete with detachable controllers and decorative stickers.

  1. Only 40$? That’s crazy. Hot take, but I think lego’s are more overpriced then most nintendo products.

  2. Wow, this is obviously a much toned down version of the mega drive compared to the Lego nes when that came out.
It reminds me of the 90’s where Mario pees all over sonic! No offense Sonic!

  3. It looks weird, not to sound as a hater but the lego NES looked better, this one the controllers are awful looking and i loved the Sega genesis back in the 90’s…smh.

  4. This low piece count is so strange. It looks….. Okay. I have the LEGO NES and Game Boy and the Genesis controller, so I’ll probably get this to keep the trend going, but the standalone Genesis controller set looks SO much better than these controllers.

  5. I just looked at the controllers after I made my prevous comment, HOLY CRAP THEY LOOK BAD!! The other genesis controllers looked so much better then this!

  6. That has to be the shittiest Lego recreation of a game system I’ve ever seen! WTF?
I can shape cardboard into a Genesis better than that!🤬
