Stellar Blade developer says its “exploring further platform expansion” for first game

Stellar Blade developer Shift Up has hinted in an earnings release that it is “actively” looking to bring the original action-packed PlayStation 5 and PC game to other formats. Shift Up is currently hard at work on the sequel to Stellar Blade, which the company will now publish itself, rather than use Sony Interactive Entertainment. Shift Up say that this is because they want to maximise the game’s global release and presumably bring it to multiple formats.

Elsewhere in its Q&A, Shift Up hinted that the original Stellar Blade may be coming to other formats, saying it was “actively exploring further platform expansion”.

Thanks to Greatsong1 for sending in the news tip!

  1. Oh I would absolutely love this. My partner and I loved playing this, but I never actually played it myself. I’d be so down for a Switch 2 release, it’d be a day-one buy for me (or I’d just pre-order lol)

  2. I feel like every game is coming to the switch 2. Heck, the studio who made crimson desert are currently researching on optimizing the game for the switch 2. This is easily the best third party support Nintendo has ever gotten since the DS.

  3. man they are dragging their FEEEET when it comes to 3rd party nintendo switch 2 titles…we can’t get shit lol

  4. In other news Sega has cancelled it’s “super game” plans. So Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio, Streets Of Rage, and Golden Axe all cancelled. Not surprised, only Shinobi released. This year is dry and Sega has next year planned with this generation near done plus layoffs over Rovio. I think Virtua Fighter 6 is next.
