Hamster has done a sterling job in faithfully reproducing classic arcade game masterpieces with its Arcade Archives series. Now the company is focussing its efforts on the new retro series Console Archives and is planning an extraordinary amount of ports. Hamster’s CEO and founder, Satoshi Hamada, said that Arcade Archives had a target of 800 and they have achieved over 500 and they want to beat that with Console Archives.
“Arcade Archives had a target of 800, and we’ve already done over 500. For Console Archives we want to beat that. Actually, now we feel like 800 titles should just be a point we pass along the way. Just in terms of the number of titles, there are a lot more home console games than arcade games, so we want to make a series where we can go further.”

I like the console archives line up, I hope they keep doing ps1 games.
As long as they can do it.
I’m 10000% behind that. I’m personally just waiting for the series to gain momentum. The moment they start dropping heavy good titles, it’s going to become seriously difficult to keep up lol. But for now, I’m checking back every now and then hoping to find something that interests me still.
That UFO game, I hope it comes out in English. It does seem like they’re not translating games as some of the JP ones they’ve released only have English manuals included with the game unchanged. Which is a massive, massive shame. Hopefully that changes.
But the sky really really is the limit here for what they can do.
For example, LSD: Dream Simulator, Silent Hill 1, 3rd party 64 games that would’ve never hit Nintendo Classics… are all possibilities !
