Yoko Taro: “To be continued” message from NieR: Automata 9th anniversary means they are “going to milk it”

Nier Automata is absolutely thrilling action game but despite numerous cross-over events a new game is nowhere to be found. When the 9th anniversary for Nier Automata came and went we were treated to a “to be continued…” message. In a recent interview with Famitsu the outspoken Yoko Taro said “My guess is that I think the message is something like, “We’re still going to milk it, we’re going to make money.” Let’s hope something substantial is planned for the Nier franchise going forward.

Yosuke Saito: I was the one who asked them to include that. I don’t know if there is a continuation or not, but I felt that “to be continued…” was absolutely necessary for the 9th-anniversary video.

Yoko Taro: My guess is that I think the message is something like, “We’re still going to milk it, we’re going to make money.”

Yosuke Saito: To end on the 9th anniversary number is not a good stopping point, so I’d like to continue until the 10th anniversary.

  1. Hey I’m all here for it lmao

Still want Replicant and a Switch 2 Edition or updates to Nier:Automata though

  2. My ONLY issue with Automata was the map was huge for no reason as only about 30-40% was actually filled out, leading to the hope the game was gonna be long as hell or that it was gonna get a DLC expansion. Sadly, neither came to pass. What a waste of data, too.
