Uhh tentri, your either a fake account or you lost your icon. I need to see your beautiful AiAi icon.
It’s me it’s me.
There we go!! I see it again.
Mario has always been huge in Mexico…smh.
Less than the first.
“Shoves calculator and calendar in face” it’s runtime is not done yet! It just released digitally.
why is Japan so low? I know it opened later in Japan but the first one made $100M in Japan while this is only at $40MM. Is it reasonable to expect it will get to $70-$80MM by the end? You would expect Japan to be the 2nd highest market after the US given Nntendo’s birthplace
Because it is western garbage
it was made in japan.
Nope. The movie is american/french. Made by illumination studios. Same people who brought you minions and sing.
Oh really? I didn’t know that. I just assumed it was made by Japan since it’s the Mario movie. It makes more sense that it was a made in America/french.
yes it was made by Illuminations but Nintendo supposedly had creative control and Miyamoto supposedly calling the shots. Also the Japanese version was voiced by Japanese actors, not the US actors. Nintendo is a big part of Japan culture so even if the movie is so so it should be performing similar to other countries compared to the original (20%-30% drop) which would mean $70MM-$80MM for Japan, second highest to the US
They just dictate what is allowed and what doesn’t. There were even some news in this very site that said the dub script would be changed significantly to adjust it for japanese audiences.
Heck, even just by watching it you can tell the humour and writing style is more western like. “Barrel rolling” isn’t even a thing in the japanese version of star fox (nor a meme), yet is a big part of fox’s character in the movie, for instance.
