The best-selling video game hardware and software in the United States for the month of April has been announced. On the hardware front the Nintendo Switch 2 proved to be the best-selling console and Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream was the best-selling software. It should be noted that Circana is using projected digital sales numbers, so how accurate they are remains to be seen. Here’s the top ten best-selling video games in the USA during the month of April:

Tomodachi has become huge in the streaming spaces. Hopefully it has a long tail.
Interesting that Circana has decided to estimate Nintendo digital sales now. Obviously it’s still not going to be 100% accurate, but I think I prefer this over the apples to oranges comparisons we were getting before. I imagine they’re using Nintendo’s official digital ratio that they report in their earnings reports and applying it to the estimates. I think Nintendo’s recent report was about a 50/50 split between physical and digital, so they’re probably doubling whatever the physical numbers are.
