NateDrake says Rayman Legends Retold is 2.5D with some 3D sections

The cat is out of the bag as the logo for the Rayman Legends remake which we now know is called Rayman Legends Retold was circulating around social media thanks to a known Ubisoft leaker. While we know that the game is titled Rayman Legends Retold, insider NateDrake has informed posters on the Reset Era forums that Rayman Legends Retold is 2.5D with some 3D sections hence the Retold subtitle.

The original game was a fantastic 2D platformer which graced numerous platforms, but as some have said, it seems a little early for a full on remake. Still, the game is apparently set to be unveiled next week presumably during Summer Game Fest or a Ubisoft event, so we can see what changes have been implemented in Retold.

  1. I actually hope the leakers are wrong about this games existance. This is the most unnessesary remake of all time.

  2. Sounds worse than the original style. It’s like they are doing a reverse Nintendo here (I’m referring to NSMB style going to Wonder style).

  3. I just don’t see the point of this, it’s widely available across all modern platforms, it still looks great and runs just fine. If they’re going to use their resources on 3D sections, why not just remake or remaster Rayman 2 and/or 3? Yenno, two games that aren’t widely available across all platforms and would actually benefit from remakes? Rayman Legends is fantastic, but it’s not going to benefit from a remake.
