WayForward has teased on X that they have been busy working on a new Shantae game which is scheduled to be released on multiple platforms in 2027. The company revealed the brand-new teaser image of Shantae at Anime Expo.

It’s heavily anime influenced but the animation is done by Studio Trigger which is an anime studio. So the answer is both yes and no.
Yes it sure seems like it just like in Seven Sirens opening animation. In the image, Shantae looks like an adult I believe.
The series based off the great Wonder Boy games.
This def has hints of anime.. almost with slight hints of ecchi adult stuff, but not quite.. because of the skimpy costumes and mild jokes etc.
I hope they try for a 3D game at some point.
