Nintendo of Europe announced just the other day that it will discontinue selling the original Nintendo Switch family of systems from mid-February next year. Today IGN reached out for a statement from Nintendo regarding other markets such as North America and Japan and was informed that Nintendo plans to continue selling the Nintendo Switch family of systems after this date in select regions.
“We plan to continue selling Nintendo Switch outside of regions where Nintendo of Europe conducts business,” Nintendo told IGN.

The funeral is delayed here in America, but for how long?
The only reason it’s discontinued in Europe is because it’s not worth it to revise it to meet the new regulations. This wouldn’t even be on the radar otherwise. It’ll be at least 2-3 years.
Looks like the funeral in the US is going to have to wait.
They should just go for the jugular and drop the price by $100.
