The Nintendo Switch 2 screen was a point of contention for the team at Digital Foundry though most users will probably not have an issue with it. A new screen seems to be in the works from Sharp which would feature improvements over the original and has recently appeared on Chinese reselling websites, meaning that it is likely currently in mass production. The screen is another LCD screen, so don’t go expecting a bright and vivid OLED screen, but we should eventually see what benefits the new screen brings to the Nintendo Switch 2.

God how I hate the Switch 2 screen. The moment I turned mine on I could see the amount of gray light bleeding through. Complete turn off and the reason why I never play this on my handheld anymore. When I was playing the switch OLED damn nearly on handheld exclusively.
Interesting, I have never had a problem with the switch 2 display. I don’t know if it’s my vision or something, but I don’t really see any ghosting. I played through welcome tour and I remember they explained what they did to the screen to make it brighter like using some specific lights that could display at a different brightness that doesn’t affect the colors.
AFAIK the Switch 2 screen is worse than the original Switch, Hardware Unboxed also tested it shortly after release and found it is a fairly slow display. That is to say I wouldn’t say it’s terrible to play on but it should’ve been better, and not an issue for those that play on TV. But it does show that Nintendo cheaped out (again) on their hardware like they usually do.

Granted, they do make their fair share of junk sometimes, like those spy cameras built into watches or other things that have crackly audio, might freeze up, and then just stop working completely.
I have to say the “ghosting” is something I’ve never seen on the screen except maybe in some very specific extreme scenarios like a black screen with a single quick object traveling across it. In regular gameplay, it’s just not a thing for me. And in this case, definitely a boon to not be able to see it because I can just enjoy the screen I’ve got. Of course if they ever do an OLED model that’s a different matter.
Vision is a very personal thing, if you’ve ever taken an eye exam for prescription lenses. Before a person’s vision is corrected, they can’t fully list the exact detail they’re not seeing that others do. Personally, my eyes hone in on the ghosted parts of the image on Switch 2. I rotate the camera around in a third person game and it simulates dizziness. But I can understand someone else’s eyes just accepting the burred details as being all movement, instead of movement + separation
Oh please, what is known as the “pixel refresh” is perfectly fine on the display. I just got it and it’s a big, beautiful display that handles HDR in particular wonderfully. A screen that is made for 120hz support is NOT GOING TO BE SLOW. Making up nonsense.
OLEDs are so laughably overrated, purely a selling point primarily, as well. If you are the type that tries to tell you that you can only get perfect black levels on an OLED, congratulations, you have no real display knowledge. You believe in a fallacy. Turn your frickin brightness setting up and the auto brightness off before you go ragging on how terrible it looks. Because I know plenty of you do not calibrate display settings. Even the relatively simple settings on the Switch 2. Which is your real problem. Digital Foundry is full of it. Which wouldn’t be the first time.
I still wait for oled model. Then i day one change joystick for magnetic. And then i start buying games 😌
