Nintendo has been throwing out major updates left and right for some older Switch games recently, so seeing Super Smash Bros. Ultimate updated for the first time in over a year might have unintentionally caused some excitement. However, Version 13.0.5 unfortunately isn’t the Nintendo Switch 2 performance update many have been hoping for, and merely fixes an online bug that most players likely never even noticed. The update applies to the original Switch (and Switch 2 via backwards compatibility) and has just one patch note: “Fixed behavior that occurs when invalid data is sent or received in online battles.” Nintendo has also shared a reminder to covert your replays to video before installing the update if you don’t want to lose them.
Latest update: Ver. 13.0.5 (Released September 1, 2026)
Online
- Fixed behavior that occurs when invalid data is sent or received in online battles.
Note: There may be compatibility issues with replays from Ver. 9.0.0 to 13.0.4. Replays from Ver. 8.1.0 and earlier are not compatible. If you want to keep your replays, convert them into videos before installing the update. You can do this via Vault → Replays → Replay Data → Convert to Video.
Nintendo is keeping me on edge right now with all of these rumors and updates. I can’t stop refreshing this website for any new news because it feels like something is revealed at every hour.
God, I almost had a heart attack
Oh goodie more patches.
Please consider help.
Maybe you should, you can’t even say the word loser with censoring it. If you going to swear or say “mean” words, don’t half ass it, go all out.
Go play ultrakill or something.
Thanks for Sonic Mania btw. Beat it. Great game.
Glad to hear it!

I’m still surprised that there isn’t a Switch 2 edition for this game yet.
And I hope there never will be. Do you really want immature Zelda again and Sonic return for the 4th iteration in a row? What if they don’t add any newcomers? Everyone has their own idea for what the next Smash game should be and it’s disgusting.
Yes it’s disgusting that everyone has an opinion
It sure is.
You’re the loser in this situation. Loser.

Oh hey, you’re that fucking creep who called people p3dos for liking Zelda’s Ultimate design over her TP design.
Still being a creepy weirdo huh? Somethings never change ig.
Do you kiss your mother with that mouth?
Nah, just your mother.

Damn… really wanted a resolution update.
