Pikmin 3 Deluxe gets free update for Nintendo Switch 2

Nintendo has released an update for Pikmin 3 Deluxe, adding GameShare support for the Bingo Battle mode and enhanced resolution on Nintendo Switch 2. This latest update brings the game to Version 1.2.0, however further patch notes have not been shared, and makes no changes when playing on the original Switch. Exactly what “enhanced resolution” means has not yet been analyzed, so we aren’t quite sure if this is the big 4K update fans have been hoping for. Nintendo’s website is vague; simply stating that the visuals have been “optimized for the Nintendo Switch 2 display and high-resolution televisions, resulting in a sharper image.” Perhaps the game now runs in full 1080p resolution in handheld mode without the need for Boost Mode.

    1. The update launched less than an hour ago! Looks to just be GameShare support and “enhanced resolution” with nothing else added. Maybe mouse controls are being saved for the rumored Switch 2 Edition of Pikmin 4?
