ConcernedApe: Haunted Chocolatier is “more of an action RPG” than farming sim

Stardew Valley creator’s long-awaited next game Haunted Chocolatier has been a long time in the making not helped by the fact that ConcernedApe has always found ways to please fans and add in new elements to the excellent, Stardew Valley. While we don’t know much about the new game, ConcernedApe has said in a new interview that Haunted Chocolatier is more of an action RPG which sounds delightful. We are still no closer to getting a release date, but that will come in time.

“It is still what I call a town game. But it’s more of an action RPG – the main focus is more about adventuring, finding equipment and getting more powerful. There are monsters, there are boss fights. It’s for the people in Stardew Valley that go into the mines. That’s what I do, honestly.”
