Microsoft survey suggests company considering making Fallout, Elder Scrolls, Minecraft Xbox exclusive

Microsoft now has a wealth of video game studios under its Xbox Game Studios banner and it’s no secret that they have had a huge reset to make the company more profitable. A new survey for Xbox Insiders suggests that they are considering making huge franchises like Fallout, The Elder Scrolls and Minecraft Xbox console exclusives, whether that be timed or for the long-term remains to be seen. As always this is just a survey, so it doesn’t necessarily mean it is happening.

  1. Console Gamers in Tears 😭 🤣

IMO exclusivity away from PC is going to be finished, even though I know MS will release everything on PC because they do these days, but when it comes to Sony and Nintendo AI has just sped up decompiling & emulator development by a ton fold, it’s already happening with software. I fixed software and added a ton of features to it within a week that a developer abandoned years ago thanks to AI.

Day of reckoning is coming, and PC is sitting pretty on top, companies are going to be pissed.

No wonder there’s a rumour that GTA 6 will come much sooner to PC, Rockstar aren’t doing it out of good faith if the rumour is true, it would be because PS5 emulation is getting good fast, plus the threat of the full game being released by somebody else.

      1. Spoken like a true clueless person.

People are just angry (even math experts) because AI is doing better than them in some areas and solving problems they took too long to solve.

The anger is because they can’t handle being second best, and didn’t want to buy cheap PC hardware when it was cheap lmaoo.

  2. Minecraft, I don’t see becoming console exclusive anytime soon. Too big and a big part of its success is its sheer accessibility (from Xbox 360, PC to 3DS & Wii U to PS4 mobile and Switch 2, only way it could’ve been bigger is if they had put it on Wii). I could see Microsoft however delaying/not putting out a PS6-specific version, while releasing a new Xbox version with exclusive content, like a new version of that vibrant visuals mode. I think a version on a potential Switch 3 would make too much sense too, but I could see them being cranky and skipping out on or delaying Playstation’s version, since they technically have no obligation to.

Fallout and Elder Scrolls I am expected to become exclusive, but I think any remakes/remasters will probably hit other platforms. The next TES is probably up in the air as they likely wanna recoup as much dev money as they can, but Fallout will probably be exclusive for the next console.

As for PC, I mean… it is Microsoft still, so they'(l make money regardless but I think they want to grow the Xbox brand. At some point they may start phasing PC out temporarily. My bet is on no longer dropping day and date, and instead making PC players wait 1-2 year(s) while having their games be Xbox exclusives. At least for their big big titles.

  3. Minecraft is too big for its own good. If they put it exclusively on Xbox it would severely hurt their franchise.

  4. Minecraft, being exclusive to Xbox? But they just put it out on switch 2 with the Mario content. If they made the spin offs Xbox exclusive, sure. But they don’t do that, they just released Minecraft dungeon 2, like a couple of weeks ago. I don’t see that happening, Minecraft is way to big to make exclusive.
