Nintendo Wii: Wii Shortages Dramatically Boost eBay Prices

Channel 4 reports that sales of Wii consoles are now fetching up to £1000 on Internet auction site eBay.

eBay claims that they’ve logged 30,000 unique searches for the prevailing games console which is currently fetching between £150-$1000 for the console plus five games.

  2. I believe it, and it’s only going to get crazier as it gets closer to Christmas. Some last-minute shoppers will pay ANY price to pick up a Wii for themselves or their kids. It will be interesting to see how it all pans out these next couple weeks!

  3. I bought one on December 16th at my local Best Buy to try to resell on ebay for the huge prices they were going for. Well aparently a regular wii goes for $360 (+ like $40 shipping) on average and yet I sell the console and an extra control and the extra wii play and only get $325!

    Seriously it’s just as hard to sell this shit as it is to buy it as everything is blockaded out by the fuckin 200 items on teh gallery. The last bid I had on mine was 5 minutes before the auction ended.
