Ive owned every Nintendo System and the Wii should be on the list above or under N64, it single handly changed gaming as we know it ( Motion Gaming) and put nintendo back on the thrown. I agree. The Super Nintendo was a massive part of my childhood. I don’t believe that the Xbox 360 deserves the top spot of favourite console even when I own the system Myself. I can pick up SR3 or Battlefield 3 and play that for a while but I have spent many more hours playing my SNES then any console I have ever owned.

Wii revolutionised the gaming market. Without it Sony wouldn’t have Playstation Move, and the idea for Kinect wouldn’t even have been conceived (I know the eye toy was out there first, but the Wii is what brought motion gaming to the next-gen market).

Especially the Commodore or ZX didn’t have as big an impact. Aside from these there are other mistakes with the list that really lessen the credibility of it.

How is it possible to have a list of consoles where Xbox 360 (not PlayStation 3) is first and NES is 14th, without including market-changer machines like Nintendo Wii or the original DS? It was a good system but I found myself playing it for 5 months then I stopped playing. until skyward sword came out. xbox 360 is maybe the best at graphics and system power but it’s doesn’t make it the best. all it’s got is kinect call of duty and like 2-4 more other exclusive games the rest the ps3 has. So xbox is an unnecessary system. And if you can prove me wrong about xbox 360 go right ahead I’m a very open person. I loved my gamecube and I think it should have been higher. and I find it very underrated system along with one of it’s games super Mario sunshine. and pc really, granted it’s got games but it’s not a dedicated GAME system. And 6, 9, 12, and 13 I don’t even know what those are. Are they uk exclusives or something. And if you got a problem with my OPINION say it calmly and respectfully.

Huh, odd, but looking at the list, it seems that the polls where answered by an older audience, I’m sure it would be a bit different it they spread the ages out a bit.
Truth is, I don’t think we could put any of the 3 current gen systems in the list… we really don’t know if they or their games stand the test of time and remain popular after their lifespan is over… that is a really big piece of the picture when trying to make such a list… I enjoy the current gen systems but like any system they have faults… The ps3 had a limited selection of games and first party titles until recently (now I rather think it is awesome) the wii used too many gimmicks and outdated itself quickly (but I still enjoy the games very much that don’t have gimmicks), and the Xbox360 has a very limiting selection of games based around First Person Shooter games and very few first party titles. Each system is enjoyable to play but they each have their strengths and weakness’s. I just don’t believe that it is fair to rank them without seeing how their games and add on’s will survive the test of time.
360 probably got 1st cuz of online play awesomeness.

I was surprised at 360 being number one until I read that it was voted by the readers, the Xbox really hasn’t done anything spectacular, the ps3 should of got higher than the 360 in my opinion an even the ps3 shouldn’t get number one, I’d say either the ps2 or N64
Amazing! Considering:
1. You have to pay for online.
2. Xbox has a retarded fanbase (see the first couple of comments about the fags saying stuff like: “NINTENDO SUCKS!”).
3. The only EXCLUSIVES it has are Halo, GoW, Forza, and Fable (which sucks).
4. It breaks down all the time.
5. You can get most of its games on either the PS3 or PC.
Thats according to the United Kingdom, would like to see the survey done in Japan, America, and Australia.

Not many exclusives
You have to pay for online while others are F2P
They live off of Multiplats like Call of Duty
Not a big selection of genres

Meh, terrible list. Not based on any fanboy logic, I have nothing against the Xbox 360, but it’s not the best games console, nor the most influential. Heck, I wouldn’t have minded if say, the Playstation 1 or 2 was first, or the NES, SNES, Wii, Game Boy, DS, etc was first. But to say one console which hasn’t done that well relatively speaking, that came out this current generation is the top game console of all time is ridiculous beyond belief.

@BigBoss – most of the people voting here are kids, so they wouldn’t remember a late 70’s console, even such a defining one as the 2600.
64 blows the 360 away, and that’s just one of the systems on this list. Gamecube was amazing, despite marking the beginning of Nintendo’s lack of 3rd party support. The PS2 had some excellent exclusives.. and the PS3 is just better than the 360. Interesting opinions..

The N64 marked the beginning of 3rd parties shifting away from Nintendo. It’s like Nintendo makes 3rd party games or forces those companies to make games.
Most of the people here seems to have liked SNES better so I would say the majority here rules over UK.

360 isn’t even in my top 10, the Xbox is but not 360. Why would people vote for that? They should’ve taken the current gen systems out, it’s too early to vote for those anyways, I guess since it’s just favorites I’ll let it pass. But my 360 has got the red ring of death…twice! So I’m going to say PS3 > 360, coming from a Nintendo fan who owns all Microsoft and Sony systems (except PSP).

Xbox360 has next to no exclusives. get the fuck off my ‘list.’ SNES deserves that place at number 1, imo. That’s when the console wars were serious business and every company wanted to innovate and be different from each other. Even Movie and TV show based games were classics (e.g. The Jetsons.) Now everyone other than Nintendo (imo) is taking the same path and simultaneously fucking up the game industry. Games are an art. It’s like compiling the visual, audio, and literary arts into one interactive bundle. If companies forget this, they’re all destined to lose their real fans.
