Nintendo of Japan has provided four wonderful minutes of New Super Mario Bros 2 action on the Nintendo 3DS. The video shows off a number of things including the world map, and the excessive coin collecting that is prominent in the game. New Super Mario Bros 2 comes out in North America on August 19th, and in Europe on August 17th.

Knowing Mario games, you can never have too many lives!
It’s likely that they’ll increase the amount of coins you’ll need or they’ll have a steeper difficulty curve (hopefully it’s just more coins).
It’s not, some footage shows someone going up from the 90s to 100 and getting an extra life.
What would be really funny is if they made it where if you get 100 lives they give you a coin and drop your life count down to 1.

I believe the majority of the fun comes in the competition from coin collection. More coins from finishing quickly and in-game collection. Besides, it may not be as easy as it looks initially in the videos. Either way, I think it will be very fun to play and compete against others.
same.. in recent years supermario games have become much easier in difficulty handheld & console wise, starting w/smgalaxy for the latter and starting w/nsmbros for ds for the former.. hardness from the challenging but fun; to the novice maturity of a 8yr old, can get get away with this crappy difficulty safety belt.. well, speaking from my perspective its from marios latest outing adventures and ima so tired of it.. i mite not play this 1 actually.
exactly i mean look at the original super mario bros that game was very difficult and took many tries to get down that is what makes it so addictive but then u get games like mario 3d land that are so easy that u only want to play through them once
yea.. smgalaxy1&2 nsmbwii and sm3dland i’ve reached completion and dissatisfaction; particularly with the difficulty component because wen i play a videogame i want 2 be immersed in it and i like that risk of peril .. therefore, i cannot entirely enjoy a videogame w/o such components and a diverse difficulty is one of them.. gah! even a moderate 1 be nice.. i still play the nes classics on virtualconsole smb1&3 is very lovely.
