Namco Bandai Surprise Scoop In Next Weeks Famitsu

Next weeks edition of Japanese gaming bible Famitsu will feature a special scoop for an upcoming Namco Bandai title. Of course, there’s plenty of speculation mounting online regarding what this special scoop could refer to. Namco Bandai is currently working alongside Nintendo on the next Smash Bros game, so there’s a slim chance the news could be somehow related to that.

            1. How sad that you assume everyone who watches that show is like that, as usual, concentrating on the negative representation, not stuff like, we just watch the show, or raise a crap ton of money for charity, and actually get involved with the cast of the show to do so.

            2. 1. they aren’t underage the show’s crew even explained that

              2. you’re assuming that we are attracted to animals just because we watch a show about them??? *coughs* 11 year old *coughs*

            1. You’re point is? Have you seen it? Is it worse than watching a show about some fake tan jersey douche bags? Or terrible american comedy? Its a tv show, people watch it, get over it

              1. “omg why do people hate bronies wah wah”

maybe it has something to do with the fact that you feel an inexplicable need to bring your shitty show into everything? this is about smash bros, not fucking horses you goddamn piece of shit

        1. I knew there were trolls on this website but you’re a sorry excuse for one, please get a life

the same goes for that doc moron up there.

  1. A little early for Smash Bros., but I have a feeling that since they’re working with Nintendo we’ll probably see a new third party character from them. Any guesses?

    1. i think the same way, smash bros is for a press event like E3 not a magazine.
I’ve been thinking for a while and nintendo is going to drop the big bomb at next e3!!. we should expect: Smash+metroid+starfox+zelda!!!
      i know….
      keep dreaming

    2. I don’t care who else is in the game as long as Geno is in it. It would be a plus to see other unused characters too like Wart (SMB2) or a Chozo from Metroid lore would be cool.

Any Star Fox characters in this game need unique and individual Final Smashes this time around. Mario and Luigi while being clones at least had individual Final Smashes. They should do the same with any other clone characters. It would also be nice to keep clone characters to a minimum too.

      1. I also forgot to mention Nester. He would be a great homage to Nintendo Power since the magazine is ending its publication this year.

    1. Wii U exclusive? Are you autistic? Look whats happened to PC version already. Texture Dumping, Resolution Fix, and 60fps, and source code for the Resolution fix with SMAA has been released and someone has already made tools for unpacking and repacking textures, models, assets properly.

  2. It’s been a year since they announced smash bros for 3ds and wiiu. I think they are lying about the game being in early stages. Yeah kid Icarus just came out a couple months ago but I still don’t buy it.

    1. Its at least been in development for 2 years now, plus with a larger team, and most likely Sakurai has at least thought of various things, maybe even sketched a couple of ideas for future reference.

    2. …you do know Iwata announced the game before Sakurai even hired a team to produce it right ? Sakurai himself said ”first time a game I’m developing was announced before I even started making it”.

    1. No, generally it’s what the developers do and not who they are is what equates to quality games. Namco makes some damn good games. Also I’m excited about what there announcement is. Especially if it’s Smash Bros related. (No I’m not a fanboy, don’t even bother with that rehashed insult)

  3. Nice ones everyone.

Please notice, the translator made a mistake. There will be no surprise next week. The game they were refering to was GOD EATER 2, and it was for this week’s Famitsu. Chesk the source provided by the author to reiterate.

  4. Everyone: don’t count on it being SSB. Why would Nintendo use Namco to announce one of their first party game? Namco Bandai is only helping with it, not developing it.

    1. actually namco is developing it. With Sakurai calling the shots.
But you are right in that it would not be namco announcing this. Its still published by nintendo. Therefore nintendo controls when and where this game is revealed. They are likely to wait till E3

  5. It says “Namco Bandai” title, not Nintendo. Just because they are working with Nintendo on Smash Bros doesn’t make it a Namco game at all. Don’t get your hopes up for this one unless there’s a Namco game you’re actually interested in like Tales of.

  6. No point reporting this just because they’re working on one game with Nintendo, the game was announced way before they even started development, I highly doubt they’re in any position to announce any news about it
