Sony developer Naughty Dog were on top form as their latest game, The Last of Us, dethroned Nintendo’s Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D to claim the Japanese top spot. a game made by naughty dog, looks very nice, it’s technically not zombies, and it (supposedly) has a good story, but that’s just what heard. Any company that is good should be able to make a good game with some sort of undead creature or whatnot. Valve, left 4 dead, Nintendo luigis mansion, konami castlevania, naughty dog, the last of us etc. etc.
It’s been said many times before, THEY ARE NOT ZOMBIES. Also, you fight zombies and survivors as well. This game is not like Dead Island or CoD Zombies. You have to use stealth, not just shoot willy nilly. If you shoot randomly, then you will get mobbed and get anal raped.

The Last of Us was incredible, I almost cried at a few parts. Makes me wish Nintendo would open up some western studios to make games like this.
If a story is what makes a game the greatest then clearly Nintendo is not for those people even though Zelda and Metroid have great stories as examples…

2. Most of The Last of Us is swinging a pipe/wrench (whatever it is), that is when you’re not (you guessed it!) shooting. Its not the pinnacle of gameplay, Nintendo Commander only dared to point that out…
You could say that about any game, the core mechanic of any game can be made seen as a rehash to another of any previous game with the same mechanic. Mario for example, you could say is all about running and jumping. Halo; all about shooting, Plants VS Zombies; Tapping the screen. This could be said about any game when you don’t understand what it is, or you’re just out to belittle it. Nintendo Commander said it best, its his opinion, and it means little to nothing for those who disagree.
Not that i hate TLOU (i enjoyed it a lot) but i don’t think any Nintendo studio should be on the trend “Presentation, graphics, story first, gameplay later”. Or at least not completely. To me, a game should (not “must” have something unique about the gameplay (Example: Gravity rush on PS Vita). It doesn’t need to be revolutionary or groundbreaking, just unique. While i like the gameplay of TLOU (It actually requires careful thought unlike Uncharted, which was pretty easy), i think it should have something about the gameplay that makes it different from other games, not just blending other features that have been done before plus impressive sound and incredible storytelling. Maybe i’m harshed about game play aspect. But still this is my opinion.
However, i have no offense to anyone who loves TLOU. And to the people who haven’t played it: you should give the game a try before fully judging it .TLOU is a great game ( better than Bioshock Infinite and many game this year). And people who love story in video game will be satisfied (yeah it’s very touching) I would give it 8.5-9.0, just not a 10 like many people do.

They have never “promised” a damn thing of the sort; that is a commercial/marketing slogan. Games like Wipeout, LBP, Uncharted, Killzone, Gravity Rush, Tearaway and several others out there from third parties whether they be multiplatform titles are exactly that “console quality” on the go.
The only 3DS top sellers are most of Nintendo’s first party, third party 3DS games not named Monster Hunter don’t sell gangbusters on that platform and it’s an observable fact. The Vita however, has proven to sell third party offerings, which is why you see indies supporting it, because their games do very well on the platform. Simple, simple logic.
Now you can hop along and shove your 3DS far up your ass, while I enjoy my platform which offers a large library right off the bat with PS+ and applies to my PS3 as well.
I own both and the 3DS has yet to have seen extensive use as my Vita.
