Step aside Luigi, this may very well be the Year of Shantae instead. WayForward’s lovable belly-dancing, hair-whipping genie has seen her original Game Boy Color game released in the 3DS eShop, had a new Kickstarter project launched for a planned Wii U title called Half-Genie Hero, and will now star in an all new 3DS game, Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse.
The official trailer for Pirate’s Curse, embedded above, has just been released by WayForward. It finds Shantae wielding a sword and imitating a pirate in order to uncover the secret of a curse that has been placed on Sequin Land.
Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse is the third game in the Shantae series, and is set for release later this year, exclusively on Nintendo 3DS.
How cool. I like pirates, that’s why I’m getting numero 4.=)

Why are the pixels so BLURRY?! It looks like crap like that. The pixels should be crisp and clean. I hope the real game isn’t like this, but I’m afraid it will be.
Year of Shantae? Nobody knows who a Shantae is..
