Nintendo Australia announces that within the first weekend of Pokémon X and Pokémon Y hitting shelves 12th October 2013, combined sales exceeded 100,000 units – smashing all previous records for a Nintendo game in Australia and New Zealand. The previous Pokémon release of Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version sold a combined total of more than 80,000 units in its first week of sales, and the combined sales of Pokémon X and Pokémon Y exceeded this in the first day alone.
The demand for these highly anticipated titles has meant that some retailers in Australia and New Zealand have been faced with an out-of-stock situation. Nintendo Australia is ensuring that additional stock will be available from this week to ensure consumers are able to begin their adventure as soon as possible. Pokémon X and Pokémon Y are also available on Nintendo eShop, where consumers can download exciting Nintendo 3DS download software, Virtual Console and Nintendo DSiWare titles directly to their system.
Excellent…
Amazing!
There is a Nintendo Australia?
Absolutely is. Unfortunately they’re completely commanded by Nintendo of Europe and sometimes they don’t even know a new game is coming out until Nintendo reveals it to the public.
Yes. Their Club Nintendo store sucks. I have well over 10,000 points and nothing to spend it on.
At least you have a Club Nintendo. Here in Norway, we get all the point cards, but have nowhere to register them!
I’m in central america, and we pretty much don’t exist to them. I’ve never spent a club nintendo point : /
Where in the world was Pokemon X and Y released, where it WASN’T a runaway success?
In the Microsoft Realm?…
MS doesnt have handheld system so they use Nintendo handhelds as their advantage against Sony so it was succes in the MS realm LOL!
Are 3ds articles troll repellent now, because I remember a time where the PS Vita was to top the 3ds, and we all saw how that turned out.

pkm is a dope rpg. people want to get their mega evos on.
3DS continues to smash all of the other consoles away as if it were nothing. I’d expect a lot more records to be broken soon folks
You know what. The main reason is that all major retailers selling it @ special price at $44 the first week here. If all the new Nintendo games start to sell at this price instead of the RRP like $60, people sure will buy local stock!
(note I almost buy all my games imported since they are always cheaper)
