The Mysterious Game Ubisoft Is Holding Back For Wii U Is For “Families And Friends”

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has spoken a little more about their mysterious Wii U title that they won’t announce until Nintendo sells more Wii U consoles to consumers. Guillemot says that the game is more for families, families and friends. So in all probability it’s a casual title for Wii U.

“What we have this year is two games. We have as you said Watch Dogs but we also have Just Dance. And we have another one we didn’t speak about yet. It will come. Just for Wii U… but it’s more for families, families and friends.”

  1. Are you kidding me? They won’t unveil a game because the system hasn’t sold enough? Games helps push systems

      1. Troll!!!! Go away please
Ubi soft have some of the best 3rd party games on wii u. You are you san ignorant kid that should not be on the internet

    1. They don’t want to push the system, they want to sell games, Ubisoft knows that they’ll probably waste more money on advertising, and is preferable to let the game on hold.

      1. Systems don’t move without the games, yes shocking concept. But holding a game back isn’t going to make people buy the system.

        1. A family game won’t help sell much units neither, I love Nintendo but the Wii U is lost, only first party titles worth something for the console

        2. And Ubisoft thinks that releasing it won’t help sell units either, so they wait until more systems are sold, After all, it’s a family game, I don’t think that any Ubisoft family game is going to sell more consoles.

They don’t care about selling the system. They care about selling the game. It is Nintendo’s job to sell the Wii U.

    2. If it’s for casuals you can keep it Ubisoft. I don’t want any casual sh1te and hurry up with Watch_Dogs already!

    1. I can’t say enough how much I enjoyed Zombie U despite explicitly reading from the company not making another one. Game was very well done all around IMO. I still hope they change their mind

  2. All right! Now who can say that Ubisoft isn’t on #TeamNintendo They’re still supporting us and just look at the new Just Dance game. It may be time to jump back on the bandwagon folks

  3. lol, well it looks like Ubisoft is officially done with the WiiU. Soon the WiiU library will be full of shovel ware and some 1st party titles.

    1. As much as I loved the first one, I will not buy Ubisoft DRM crap on my PC, not until Ubisoft learns, that only pirates can enjoy their games on PC,

  4. It makes sense yet at the same time it dose not. I mean i can see if they wouldn’t want to release the game for a console that hasnt been doing good in the market but come on if you are already developing the game and its for that conseole only

  5. This is why I always think diehard fanboys of any company are the worst. Atleast they haven’t completely given up on the Wii U or Nintendo. All they ask is that Nintendo properly advertises the damn thing so that it actually starts selling. You can blame third parties for not putting games on it but what do you expect when at times it seems like even Nintendo has little faith on the Wii U. Their advertising for it is usually subpar and the games they choose to advertise usually target a demographic of casual gamers who are very unpredictable and unreliable for long term sales. Hopefully they continue what they started with the advertising of Mario Kart 8. MK8 and SSB4 could really turn things around for them.

          1. can’t agree more with you but saying that the bundle saw a massive increase of hardware sell. so far 1.2 million bundle sold in a week worldwide and there is not sign it’s going to stop next week. If Nintendo managed to sell 2M worldwide in 2 weeks that a great achievement!!! even analyst did not expect that number despite the fact they knew Mario kart will be a system seller.

        1. And made top billing in Japan and became a worldwide sensation completely overshadowing Watchdogs. MK8 probably already beat the game in sales and time already: More than 4 million in less than a week on just one system.

  6. Ubisoft… I had faith in you when you showed off the new Rainbow Six game but now… I’ve lost all hope you and why does Far Cry 4 look like Far Cry 3 in terms of graphics? And why did the Division get a downgrade like Watch_Dogs?

  7. I’m sorry but if it’s for family and friends then I don’t want to hear anything about it. They better keep it for themselves.

  8. Excuses, excuses… oh Ubi you want to leave Nintendo but fear losing it’s Nintendo fans…

Another party game? Really? Even if the Wii U outsells the PS4 and XBOne combined, who wants to buy your party game? We want the multiplat games.

  9. they are still trying to recreate this Wii shit on this Wiiu. no families friends and grandmas buy another console anymore, it’s all over. this console has a chance to be like a sort of gamecube was, or just fail

  10. Nintendo Knight Equilibrium

I have family and friends to play your game pls give this game to me now
I bought and got all your games on my wii u and I will buy your watch dog too and I have all your games on my past gen consoles and I don’t like my ps4 and I don’t even touch the damned thing anymore, I preferred buying your games on my wii u and I’m one of your consumer and why can’t u
Enough said it doesn’t really matter anymore, I’m enjoying playing other games espicially MK8 right now, I can’t play all this games anyways and yeah I still enjoying your just dance game with friends and family and I thank u for the next just dance game

  12. Lol, No Unity or Comet, no The Division, no Rainbow Six, no FIFA, no Tetris(LOLOLOL), no the crew. You guys still support the Wii U? I know you guys are gonna be like ‘I bought a Wii U for the exclusives’ Yeah, right. Everytime there’s a third party article/topic posted on here there’s always a high comment count.

  13. Didn’t Nintendoland, Wii U sports and Wii Party U already prove family games on Nintendo don’t move consoles? So when Smash Bros, Starfox U and Yarn Yoshi and Bayonetta2 arrive it’ll still outsel Ubisoft’s software anyway.
