Palutena Amiibo Is Amazon Exclusive

Amazon has announced today what many have feared, Palutena is exclusive to the online retailer. Many of you are understandably fed up with certain amiibo only being available at certain retailers and it doesn’t seem as if this trend is going to go away. However, I’m sure most of you have Amazon accounts so it shouldn’t be too much of a problem.

  1. I’ve noticed retailer exclusives are a lot easier to get. Rumors are best buy will get 100 dsrk pit per location, and all the stock being concentrated means you know where to look and it lasts longer. It may be online for a full hour rather than 15 seconds because there is more stock, it isn’t spread. I failed on Robin and Lucina every time they went up because it was always just a moment, but I easily got every other exclusive. (I eventually ordered them from Japan)

  3. Ha ha ha. I knew it. This being the reason I bought two from Japan. No more scalper rushes for me.

  4. I don’t expect for a second that most consumers will be available to get these – much like when Robin and Lucina were available during a certain period of time on Amazon, she’ll probably go in under a minute, if you’re even able to get to the page to add her to your cart in time.

Unless Nintendo VASTLY increases the supply this time, expect the same results.

One step forward, two steps back.

  5. Well I be ordering 3 just to stick my 7 incher inside palutenas dress. And goingnback and forth for 2 minutes a week just to feel better

  6. Do you, perhaps, remember how quickly the last wave of Amazon Amiibos vanished?
You may as well content yourself with not having them, ’cause this one’s gonna be gone before anyone gets their hands on it but the people with bots.

  7. Look guys. Iwata just died. Did they really need to hit us with more bad news at a time like this?

Good thing I imported the JP Palutena amiibo before this announcement.

  8. If you think the fact that she is amazon exclusive is bad only due to the fact it will be hard to get, think of if you are an in box collector. You have NO WAY of looking at which ones you buy and have to hope yours comes in mint condition or your whole collection will have that one NA Palutena that’s all dinged up.

  10. That wasn’t much of a surprise especially now that people are getting sick of Amiibos being used for expensive Microtransactions on tiny ass filler content that means nothing to gamers. Costumes, multicolors? That’s the best they can do with NFCs while Activision and Disney actually build a game fully using them as playable figures. That’s why I’m not buying anymore.

That reminds me, I know there’s gonna be comments defending this like Smash Bros. doing exactly that. You know what would’ve been nice? If Nintendo actually updates a new mode to allow your saved and trained Amiibo fighters to verse other players based on one’s skills locally and online while allowing placing bets on who would win. That shit would’ve been cool and gives Amiibos a bit more purpose for that game. Meanwhile, somebody tell Nintendo they should make a big, simulated adventure game like Infinity and Skylanders to fully utilize the Amiibo’s potential.

    1. I like to get the amiibo because I like the characters, not just for Smash or Mario Kart or any games. There will be figures I ignore like Toon Link and Dark Pit and I’m mostly after main characters like Mario, Pit, Samus, etc.

And who’s to say there won’t be a big amiibo-centric game down the line? Perhaps the reason they haven’t do so yet (and might not yet) is because of stock problems? I would imagine Skylanders and Disney Infinity would get a lot of crap if the necessary figures were hard/impossible to come by, perhaps that’s what’s stopping Nintendo right now.

      1. And that may explain why they caved into that Skylanders BS partnership and make two Amiibos for the game which no fan is gonna bother with for long. A Nintendo Amiibo-centric adventure simulated game will be a far better option for fans to play all of their favorite characters in one game besides Smash Bros.

  11. Well, I guess that confirms that nobody in my family will ever own the Palutena amiibo. My niece is going to be SO ticked off when I tell her about this.

  12. Thank goddess Palutena that it’s at least Amazon this time unlike every other retailer that charges like 25+% of the price of an Amiibo (4 bucks ish) for shipping…. Amazon, free 2 day shipping, yay~!

  13. You guys realize… she’ll be the rarest amiibo b/c of this online exclusiveness.
Scalpers will trick the severs with hundreds of fau accounts and get them all…. you fools!

  14. Ugh… First the bad news of Iwata’s passing & now this!? (this bad news is not on the same level of bad news as someone dieing but still! One blow after another stacks… *right eye twitch*breathes* Calm down, Ridley. You can always import from Japan since it seems that’s what Nintendo wants us to ultimately do since it seems Japan rarely, if ever, has stock problems.

    1. Not like it matters because I heard this amiibo will release before July 31st & I won’t have any money to spend to get her til that date. By then, she’ll be long gone. ARGH!!!

  15. Well, there’s another $16 that’ll be going to another company. The amount of money that Nintendo is not making off of me due to bullshit like this is starting to get stupid. I know their marketing loves the hype that this kind of ass backward distribution creates, but honesty it’s just lost sales. I’m not going to pay scalpers or 2nd hand marketers for these. There are currently 11 figures that I would buy if I could just walk into the store of my choosing and pick them up. That might only be small change towards the big picture, but I’m sure I’m not the only one. Looks like it’s back to business as bullshitty usual for the Big N.
