    1. It was called Dragon Warrior originally when it was ported over to america back in the 80’s. I was first introduced to the series when I got the Dragon Warrior 1 NES cartridge that came free with my Nintendo Power subscription. It’s probably my favorite RPG series of all time. The artwork is always done by Akira Toriyama, the guy who created Dragon Ball and also did the art for Chrono Trigger. If you like turn based RPG games, dive into the series, it’s good stuff.

      1. Dragon Warriors doesn’t sound much more familiar. I didn’t hear about Chrono Trigger until a few years ago either. Only real turn based RPG I have played is FF VII, and that’s one of my favorite games ever. But the turn base thing has never been something I liked much (aside from FF VII obviously). So I guess that’s why I never heard of all these RPGs when I was growing up.

        1. Well if you’re a fan of the art style of Dragon Ball (which I’d assume you are lol), I would definitely give Dragon Quest a try and Chrono Trigger is an amazing game as well. I think the Dragon Quest 4 remake for the DS is a great place to start in the series. That one is one of my favorites.

        2. ~*Let the shackles be released!*~ Chains of Lucifer X3 ~*Or fall forever!*~

~*You should definitely play Chrono Trigger. The game was turn based but the battle system worked in a way that you forgot it was even turn based. Oh & the music is fantastic! Speaking of which, I really should play Chrono Trigger DS again soon once I’ve cleared the main story of a few of my PS4 games.*~

        3. My brother got Dragon Warrior with his Nintendo Power prescription. I dont think it was a widely available game in stores, but it’s not rare either :p

But yeah, I’d reccomend 3 as a good DQ game to play first :3 You’ll probably enjoy in if you like RPGS :3

  1. Also, if you’re not in the mood for an RPG that Rocket Slime game on the DS was really fun! Dragon Quest Heroes on PS4 is pretty cool too, I like it better than Hyrule Warriors. But I’d recommend just starting with one of the RPG titles to get a good feel of the series. I’m super excited for the DQ7 and DQ8 remakes on 3DS this summer!
