One of the more confusing things we have reported on in recent times is the petting/touching mini-game in Fire Emblem Fates. Kotaku initially reported that it had been completely removed from the western version which prompted other sites to chip in and say that it is still there. Well, it is kind of still there. The publication reports that while you can’t rub allied characters in exchange for gratitude in the western edition, you can however tap your spouse in order to wake them up. Nintendo America issued the following statement to Kotaku to help clear things up.
“In certain circumstances, S-Level characters are able to wake up their spouses by blowing into the microphone or by tapping the screen to touch their hair, face or shoulder. These randomly triggered events are unrelated to the mini-game in the Japanese version.”

Whatever.
I’m no longer interested in this game. Mostly because Nintendo is charging us too much for my taste (2 x 39.99 + taxes), and also because FE DLC has been extremely expensive.
My 3DS will be kept hybernating until something really unexpected takes place.
To be far it’s about $80 for all 3
You’re right, I just checked the MSRP at the FE website. But it is still too much money for me.
games used to be that price back in the day, and even then they where incomplete pieces of garbage. this are 3 games for 80 dollars, its not too much

The same clickbait shitfest that asked Aonuma if Tingle was gay when it’s obvious that he wasn’t. What more proof would you want than him getting some special service from Pinkle in Rosy Rupeeland’s good ending?
Man. It’s confusing gibberish like this that is one of the reasons I no longer pre-order stuff. So much energy has even absolutely wasted on what I imagine is such an insignificant part of this game that it has literally soured me to the whole experience. At this point I need solid overwhelming game reviews to even make me want to bother checking it out. Good job, Big N, on actually annoying the hype out of me.
Now onward to the 513,000th Twilight Princess HD comparison video!
~*Fire emblem Fates… What’s that again..? Is that the game where they freak out over a little petting game & remove it because they think teenagers can’t handle it..? Or maybe it’s like the stupid reason to stop Swapnote because some might misuse the feature..? Better stop the use of cell phones, forks, butter knives, cars, internet, etc because some people can misuse those things too. Oh well. The bright side is I can use the money that would have gone to this on something far more worthy of my time.*~
The irony is most teens these days are rubbing peoples’ faces/bodies/what-have-you in real life already.
~*Exactly! These idiots at Nintendo’s American Sect & these idiots defending the idiotic decisions from these idiots at NoA apparently want to ignore the real world & the real world is full of petting other human beings, varying sizes of boobs, cussing teenagers and cussing children, nudity, 13 year olds in bikinis, women in lingerie, etc. Welcome to the REAL world, motherfuckers!*~
Kinda too late to backpedal now, kotaku :p Regardless of all this, I still got this game preloaded on my 3DS. I love FE regardless of the whole skinship thing, and I’m grateful Nintendo gave us a FE with tons of content that builds upon how awesome Awakening was.
Anyone else going to a midnight release?
It got watered down that much?
…Yep, skipping it. Again.
~*Region locking being dropped on Nintendo consoles can’t get here soon enough, Lord Brisk. But knowing the tyrants at Nintendo’s American Sect, they’ll implement some kind of bullshit on it so they can continue to control what content we see in our games. I can see them implement a paywall. While Nintendolts bitch about having to pay for online on PS4 & XBone, they’ll most likely gladly accept a paywall for playing games on your console from another region like the sheep they are.*~
