  1. Xeno X is my second favorite game of this generation behind Splatoon. It deserves to sell much more. Though its only been out for 3 months in most regions so it should be on track for 1 million sales pretty soon, which is not bad at all.

  2. All this shows me is lack of games. At least three of these games aren’t even from 2015. A prime example of the drought effect. That being said, most of these games are really good.

  3. It appears to me that VGChartz have forgotten to add Bayonetta 2 and dethrone Kirby and the Rainbow Curse. In fact, B2 have sold 970,000 units worldwide (not counting digital units from the eShop).

~*Terrible sales for XCX. I wonder why. Oh that’s right! It’s not family friendly like Super Mario Maker or Splatoon so Nintendo doesn’t even give it mass marketing months before release & months after release. It’s an afterthought just like Bayonetta 2 & Fatal Frame 5. Sad, really, since Nintendo has a stake in these three games’ success.*~

    1. It hasn’t been out as long as the other games either. There were plenty of commericials in the US for the game but I cannot speak for any other area.

      1. I myself only saw a few ads on IGN during its launch week, ever since then, I’ve yet to find one. I still see Splatoon ones on YouTube from time to time though.

          1. Really? Ill admit I dont watch AS as much, but I do occasionally watch it (Rick & Morty being one of the reasons) and Ive never seen one AD. I dont watch SpikeTv though, so I cant speak for that.

            1. The music in the commercial was bad but the commercial was pretty good. I only saw it in December and January and that was it but they played it a lot.

    2. And that sheds light on a very important point. People want to think that Nintendo will have learned its lesson with the NX, and although I am confident Nintendo will make many changes, I’m doubtful they will be the changes that fans want to see. I say this because Nintendo had an opportunity to alter its image and trajectory with games like the ones you mentioned, i.e., Bayonetta, Fatal Frame (which didn’t even get a physical release), Xenoblade, etc. They had an opportunity, and they chose not to capitalize on it. In fact, they appear to have backed away from any recent efforts to appeal to its core fanbase. Instead they pour truckloads of money into marketing games like Splatoon and Mario Kart/3D World/Party, complete with commercials of happy families enjoying playing these games together. How do they know Bayonetta wouldn’t have sold better had they given it a solid marketing push? I’m worried that Nintendo is more entrenched in its stubborn, out of touch ways than ever, and I think they believe that they were only wrong about the approach itself with the Wii U, not the targeted market, i.e., families, and if Nintendo tries to releases another happy-family-friendly-fun machine, it’s going to be a damn hard sell for me.

      1. Bayonetta 2 (the one with the bonus Bayonetta 1 disc) didn’t even have a chance to sell more copies. Since Nintendo (or SEGA. Whoever is responsible for making more copies) never released anymore. And they’re now all sold out EVERYWHERE. I had to buy MY Bayonetta 2 by ordering each disc separately on eBay. It was the only way I could buy both games without paying those crazy 70 and 80 dollar prices on eBay.

~*Nintendo failed that game just like they failed Bayonetta 2 & Fatal Frame 5 because they didn’t do mass marketing for them. Like Nintendo of Latin America, I knew Nintendo’s American Sect would probably have the “Oh it’s a niche title so we don’t see the need in doing mass marketing!” mindset when, in reality, because it’s a niche title it needs mass marketing. But since they weren’t family friendly like Splatoon, NoA said “Fuck ’em.” What’s sad is NoE & NoJ aren’t doing any better with marketing. Nintendo’s entire marketing these days is utter shit unless, like I said, it’s family friendly. I would say “I hope Nintendo eventually goes bankrupt for their bullshit, so you white knights will finally learn how stupid you all were for supporting their bullshit & letting them do as they pleased.” But then those of us that truly care about Nintendo’s games would lose a good chunk of what keeps us gaming while you people just flock to the next big thing because that’s what casual gamers do best.*~

  5. I have 8 of those 10 games. My favorite first party Wii U game has got to be Yoshi’s Wooly World. I think I had more fun playing that game than any other Wii U game I’ve played. Only played Super Mario Maker for a short time and got bored. I now have Splatoon, but haven’t played it yet. I’m very surprised to see Mario Party 10 on this list. Especially above Yoshi’s Wooly World. I heard nothing but insults and complaints about Mario Party 10.

    1. The bad thing about Mario Party 10 selling so well is that every Mario Party game that comes out now is going to suck the same way that Mario Party 9 and 10 did. Because the company will think that everything is ok with the game. They NEED to make them SKILL based. Not just luck based. And get rid of that damn car thingy that they all ride in. That’s just freakin’ retarded!
