Project X Zone Removed From Nintendo 3DS eShop

In some surprising news it would seem as though the original Project X Zone has been removed from both the North American and European eShop. We are not certain why the game has been removed but it’s no longer listed as a downloadable title. If you have downloaded it before then you’re greeted with the following message “This software is currently unavailable” where the re-download button would be.

    1. Probably rights issues. Just like how Disney forced Capcom to limit the copies of Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Tatsunoko ended production of Tastunoko vs Capcom copies for the Wii several years ago.

  1. Remove it form store. OK. Three big companies behind that game so copyright agreement trouble or something. But NOT let people re-download content THEY PAID FOR?! Seriously that must be illegale.

    1. Its not. You don’t own the game, only the right to download and play it as it’s available. Same goes with any digital purchase.. Books…music..movies. You are buying a license to access it.

      1. Yeah, I know you have I subscription that can be terminated. BUT they should not be able to justt take it away unless you actually violated the terms. If things like this gets enough attention (at least in Norway) this kind of thing could be illegal. Valve and the Goverment of Austraila had a dispute I remember I THINK. I do not think they can provoke your subscription there any longer. Heard of people going against Origin here in Norway as well. How it went I do not know.

Never the less it is one of many reasons to stick to physical as long as possible.

        1. It’s almost as bad as the PT debacle that saw the beginning of the FucKonami movement.
I suspect it is rights issues, since they were patchy to begin with, due to the fact they had to cut several songs due to that, but I hope it’s an error.

    1. People who brag about how digital is the future sure are funny. I mean sure, it will be the future. It WILL. But right now you’re gonna be unhappy if you planned to get this and you’ll slowly see those physical copies skyrocket. Get it now or bite the dust.

  2. SJWs are at it again. I’m sure they detected some kinky line or a skirt that hasn’t been censored.

    1. that or it could have been some legal issue and if it gets resolved it may or may not come back, if it doesnt then im gonna have to invest in a physical copy to save some space on my sd card

    1. I bought the Limited Edition physical copy at launch, and I’m not even halfway through it. It’s premise is alright but the gameplay is so tediously repetitive that at times I regret purchasing it. But I persevere and progress.

And then afterward, I’ll get Project X Zone 2.

  3. My guess is censorship. Nintendo has a hard-on for censorship lately. I’m surprised every time Hyrule Warriors gets an update that one of them isn’t to censor Cia’s outfit.

    1. lol Don’t forget Lana & Cia’s white outfit. Too much cleavage for little boys & girls to see. lol

      1. Oh wait! The game is rated T for Teen! There shouldn’t even be any little boys & girls playing the game to begin with!

  4. Wait. So not even those that already bought the game can redownload it? That’s… bullshit..! I’m worried now that they might have done this so they can go back & fucking censor it. Ugh. Now I got to be wary about “updates” to Project X Zone 2. <.< Well it has begun. The bullshit in Miiverse with downgrades falsely advertised as updates are starting to infect other areas at Nintendo! Quick! Cut off the infected limb known as Miiverse before it infects every inch of Nintendo! D:

No, no! Mustn't jump to the worst possible assumption yet! Maybe everyone involved in the game are at each other's throats right now over some licensing dispute. :/ Either way, this sucks for everyone that got this game digitally but removed it from their microSD card for whatever reason.
