Tilmen from Nintendomination has kindly uploaded the first seventy minutes of the long-awaited Professor Layton Vs Phoenix Wright. The game was released today in Europe and has an average review score of 80 on online review aggregation site, Metacritic.
Nintendo UK has uploaded the first television commercial for the long-awaited Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney.
Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright is released on the 28th March 2014 in Europe, exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS family of consoles.
Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino hinted during Nintendo of France’s Japan Expo that Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney could be coming to both Europe and America. Hino told attendees that something is in the works, but he can’t talk about it today. Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney was released in Japan during November of last year. Hopefully we won’t have to wait too long before we get a firm release date here in the west.
Online gaming publication VG247 recently got the opportunity to sit down with Level 5 CEO Akihiro Hino to gain some insight into future projects. During the interview it sounds as though Hino revealed to the publication that Professor Layton VS Ace Attorney is currently being localised and is due next year in the West. Here’s what VG247 had to say.
“Thankfully Hino seemed much happier to discuss the studio’s incoming releases – Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch and Professor Layton vs Ace Attorney – due for release on PS3 and 3DS next year respectively.”
Level 5’s Professor Layton vs Ace Attorney and Capcom’s Monster Hunter 4 for Nintendo 3DS will be playable at this years Tokyo Game Show. No Wii U, Wii or Nintendo DS games are scheduled to be at the event, but there will be thirteen Nintendo 3DS games on display. Tokyo Game Show kicks off on Thursday, September 20th.
Development of the forthcoming Professor Layton VS Ace Attorney for the Nintendo 3DS is apparently going very smoothly indeed. Work on the game is currently at its final stages – which means that a Japanese release for the game shouldn’t be too far off. Shu Takumi, the main developer of the core Ace Attorney series, just asks fans to continue being patient.
“Production on Layton vs Ace Attorney is at its climax. It’s like my entire life is focused on it. While I still can’t say much, it’s progressing well, so please wait a bit more.”
Level 5 and Capcom have released a trailer for Professor Layton Vs Ace Attorney on the Nintendo 3DS. The game is due out sometime in 2012 in Japan but there’s still no official word on a Western release. Let’s hope Capcom and Level 5 announce something soon!
Online gaming publication Games Radar noticed an English-language press release for Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney at this years Tokyo Game Show. The interesting thing is that it notes that “English names are TBD,” which presumable means that Level 5 and Capcom will eventually localize the game for the West. What do you think?

Level 5, the developers behind Professor Layton Vs Ace Attorney, has revealed just who will be providing the voices of the characters behind the eagerly awaited game. Professor Layton and Luke are voiced by their regular voice actors, Yo Oizumi and Maki Horikita. Phoenix Wright and Maya Fey will be voiced by respectively Hiroki Narimiya and Mirei Kiritani. All we need now is a solid release date.
