Amazon really wants amiibo lovers in the US to round out their collections. The online retailer is currently offering the figures at extreme discounts, with Chibi Robo currently selling for $6.97, and Tom Nook for just $5.48. There are other amiibo on sale as well, including Ganondorf, Link, Mewtwo, Zero Suit Samus, and the Splatoon three-pack, though you won’t save as much on those figures. Still, I’d suggest taking a trip over to Amazon if your in the business of collecting.
For those who don’t know, Tom Nook is a main character in every Animal Crossing game, including the upcoming Animal Crossing: New Leaf for Nintendo 3DS. Nook is notorious for pushing players to spend their hard-earned Bells – the currency used in the Animal Crossing series – toward repaying their loans. Because Nook seems to always be after your money, some players hate him and deem him as an ‘evil’ or ‘greedy’ character. However, Aya Kyogoku, a director of Animal Crossing: New Leaf, says he thinks people get the wrong idea of Nook. According to Kyogoku, Nook just loves his business. What do you think of Tom Nook? Do you consider him evil? Let us know in the comments below.
“We think he is very misunderstood. He’s just passionate about his business. He’s not like a loan shark. He doesn’t add a handling fee or anything like that. He can wait as long as it takes for you to pay back. He’s not as bad as other people might think he is.”

Nintendo revealed the box art of Animal Crossing: Jump Out! for Nintendo 3DS, which will launch in Japan on November 8th. As you can see, the cover art features several new animals as well as familiar faces, including Real Estate agent Tom Nook and the singing/guitar-playing dog, K.K. Slider.
A new scan reveals a few tidbits from the upcoming Nintendo 3DS game, Animal Crossing: Jump Out, which will launch in Japan this year. The boy in the upper-left corner is wearing a NTDO shirt, which represents Nintendo, which was founded September 23rd, 1889.
Tom Nook will run the Raccoon Housing and, instead of his old apron, wears a classy green sweater vest. Tom Nook’s two nephews, Tommy and Timmy, will run the miscellaneous good store. And that creepy clown-sloth in the upper-right corner will run the gardening store.
