Nintendo Wii: More Zelda Wii Information Given By Nintendo

Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma recently spoke to online gaming publication, IGN, and informed them that the overall structure of the Zelda franchise is set to change with Zelda Wii.

“We’re making efforts regarding the total flow of the Zelda game. So far, the basic flow of the Zelda games is you’re exploring a field, you go to a dungeon, you conquer it and return to the field. We’re looking at altering that traditional flow. That’s all I can share, and I can’t say more until E3 next year.”

  1. I agree with Azzbaker…

looking forward to the game though…

surprisingly the Twilight Princess game is still at $50… :l

  2. Is that a screenshot from the game? Because that looks awesome.

I’m glad that they are changing the flow, because it’s always been the same thing, I was hoping this game would feel new and fresh

  3. I wish the next Zelda game would look like that, but unless Nintendo is releasing new hardware, that’s not gonna happen.

    1. The next Zelda could easily look a HECK of a lot better than Twilight Princess, which was after all a Gamecube title.

Just compare Smash Bros Melee to Brawl, or Mario Sunshine to Mario Galaxy.

If they’ve been putting as much energy as I expect they have into this next Zelda, this could be the most visually impressive Wii title yet.

    2. Obviously, you haven’t seen Darkside Chronicles. Seeing how great that game looks, I wouldn’t be surprise if Nintendo tried some of Capcom’s techniques to get a Wii game to look amazing.

  5. hmm… Online possibilities and a big change in the gaming structure?!

When i read that, I began to picture it as Zelda taking a FFXI turn.

But You can’t have a Zelda game without Link so, scratch that.

  6. Can’t say i’m not a little unsettled by that statement. I hate linear gaming (Where you HAVE to fallow a set path by the game) and I always feel constricted by most RPG types… I love sandbox gaming, and I really don’t want that to change…

Oh well, maybe they’ll make something work..

  7. Maybe they’re going to introduce a time travel element, but this time it will change exactly where you stand or something. Or even a multiple choices aspect thus get different ending.
