Numerous British games industry sources have stated that Nintendo are looking to launch their next generation handheld in October alongside Microsoft’s Project Natal and Sony’s PlayStation Move.
“It’s a surprise – we were expecting it much closer to Christmas. But I suppose it gives Nintendo the opportunity to get it front and centre in people’s minds nice and early.
“In my experience, you don’t launch a product that early to Christmas unless you’re confident in it – and going to spend a lot of money on it. We’re reassured that Nintendo is going to give it some decent backing in Q4.”
– Anonymous games industry trade source speaking to popular British gaming publication, CVG.

sweet.
Truly awesome. Let it be noted that 2010 is the year Nintendo works for that money.
2010 is now my favorite year.
I agree, 2010 is shaping up to be a great year for Nintendo.
I have the original DS and never cared to get one of the newer versions but this looks pretty cool.
It’s important to note that this isn’t just another iteration of DS like the DS Lite, DSi, and DSi XL are. The 3DS is supposed to be their next major handheld console :D
Awesome! Now the debate wheter to import one or wait till next year for the American release haha
Its official. Nintendo will have my wallet in 2010.
With Monster Hunter Tri out and now this Nintendo has my wallet and my heart for this year. It would be hard for them to do any wrong.
…no jinxes.
don’t forget Super Mario Galaxy 2, Metroid: Other M, and the new Zelda being released in November. =D
Also don’t forget the new Pokemon Black and Pokemon White !
If it comes out anywhere in 2010, it will come out in America in 2010.
The DS and Wii came out first in the US, remember?
@ Phoenix – Those are coming out Fall this year in Japan, so I’d see a worldwide release sometime in Spring 2011.
Wow…..2010 Rules! This is definitely Nintendos year for absolute greatness!

Ah ok I see sorry then my bad.
But yeah I’m pretty sure that the 3DS will release this year here in America also, especially since they’re showing it at E3.
