Nintendo 3DS: Nintendo 3DS To Launch October 2010?

Numerous British games industry sources have stated that Nintendo are looking to launch their next generation handheld in October alongside Microsoft’s Project Natal and Sony’s PlayStation Move.

“It’s a surprise – we were expecting it much closer to Christmas. But I suppose it gives Nintendo the opportunity to get it front and centre in people’s minds nice and early.

“In my experience, you don’t launch a product that early to Christmas unless you’re confident in it – and going to spend a lot of money on it. We’re reassured that Nintendo is going to give it some decent backing in Q4.”

    1. It’s important to note that this isn’t just another iteration of DS like the DS Lite, DSi, and DSi XL are. The 3DS is supposed to be their next major handheld console :D

    1. With Monster Hunter Tri out and now this Nintendo has my wallet and my heart for this year. It would be hard for them to do any wrong.

      …no jinxes.

  1. don’t forget Super Mario Galaxy 2, Metroid: Other M, and the new Zelda being released in November. =D

  2. @ Phoenix – Those are coming out Fall this year in Japan, so I’d see a worldwide release sometime in Spring 2011.

But yeah I’m pretty sure that the 3DS will release this year here in America also, especially since they’re showing it at E3.
