Nintendo 3DS producer, Hideki Konno has mentioned in a recent interview that Nintendo 3DS game demo’s or even entire games could be automatically pushed to the console via the systems SpotPass feature. To further reiterate this Hideki Konno stated “You could wake up in the morning and say, ‘Oh look, I’ve got a new game demo,’ or a new game”.

  1. Yeah, but he also posed the question if demos were even worth making due to instances where some people are satisfied by playing only the demo version of a game and never by the full version.

  2. Demos are totally worth making. Look, in order to make it, you MUST deliver. Consumers want options options options. People who want the full game will just buy it. Demos are to give players a chance to see if they like what they play so far. That was a very big issue my friend had with WiiWare & VC. He wouldnt know if a game was REALLY good until he bought it first. THATS 1 prime reason Xbox LIVE does so well.

  3. Thats great but sometimes giving the full version of the game may not be a good idea but if nintendo wants to i have no problem with it

  4. I believe this is not true. The article I originally read his in discussed that demos may not be the best route for the 3DS.

  5. Game demos are something the 3DS really NEEDS. The Wii needed them, and it sort of got them, but they weren’t done well enough. They need to be available to the public before the full game is released, and they also need to stay available for awhile after release for the stragglers like me. It also needs demos of actual cartridge games. I seem to remember the DS having one or two actual cartridge game demos, but I don’t know exactly how many there actually were.

In short, a large demo service would be very helpful.

    1. In the Nintendo Channel on the Wii, theres a “DS Download” section, where you can get Demos of various games, From Nintendo games to some third party games. Also, there is some Downloable Content for some games, like Fossil Figthers, Dragon Quest IX and i like remember, there was somethinng exclusive for Pokemon Diamond.. but dont remember exactly.
Some Full games had its “Send Demo Version”, and this games could be finded with your retailer in the games section for you to download.

  6. i think the 3DS should have the demos cause those gamefly commercials are right, i’ve baught a bad game before and was only able to get $5 back when i bought it for $50, when i’ve played a demo on Xbox i never bought a bad game so im for the demos. DEMOS FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!
