Nintendo 3DS: Want To Know If You’re A Nintendo Ambassador? Nintendo Will Tell You Soon

Looking through the comments section and the Internet in general a lot of people seem to be unsure whether they’ve been confirmed as a Ambassador. Thankfully Nintendo will be launching a site soon where anyone can type in the number on the back of their Nintendo 3DS to find out whether or not they will be receiving the twenty free games.

          1. Go into the eShop and choose “News.” The top story should be called “Ambassador Program.”

It will start off by telling you that you are an Ambassador.

            1. You’re riggt HOWEVER even if I’ve already read the notification (in the home and in the eSHop) now the notification just isn’t there anymore!!!!!!!!! I’ve got the welcome message to the eShop and the Video Channel message too. I had the Ambassadors message but now it’s gone…………………….
I’m certain I read it before, so I’m in, AM I? If only that message was still there I wouldn’t doubt!!

    1. According to the Nintendo Support site, they removed the news article from the eShop. So we all have to wait for this site to launch to know for sure…

  1. i live in the middle east (Dubai) so i’m not really sure i will be receiving the 20 free games or not
hope they launch the site soon, but when will be these games available?

  2. This is so annoying. Nintendo say it is as simple as going online and joining the Anbassador programme on your 3DS. Everytime I try the options never there Europe can’t even join the programme online. This is more complicated then simple!

    1. There isn’t anything to click on or join. Once you go to the eshop, your 3DS does the rest. So i would say that this is as simple as it could possibly be.

      1. But instructions over many gaming websites say that there should be a notice that asks you to join the programme before September the 1st. I haven’t had that notice so should that mean it will download them automatically anyway?

        1. Whatever website said you have to sign up for the program was lying to you. Once you go to the eshop it automatically sends a notification to Nintendo in the background. Once the games are available you will be allowed to download them.

        2. It might also depend if you have spotpass activated (doesn’t have to be on) and other customizable settings for notifications. It is not required to be on, but if you are over concerned with it connecting and draining battery, one might have left that stuff off.

It seems also to vary by country, so I would think this site would confirm any doubts providing it works/available for all regions (or something is available for all regions).

  3. O thank you nintendo
but i got the message about the program (the US message)but never clicked it… does this mean i wont get ga,es

  4. Personally I think it will end up as a lot of us worrying over nothing and we’ll get the confirmation. I was gonna wait a bit before buying Link’s Awakening due to work, but downloaded it just as “proof” as having been on the eShop. CAN’T WAIT for the full list of free games! So excited!

  5. As long as you clicked on the Eshop icon before the cut off time you are good to go. Here in the states, you will get a notification from Nintendo soon. I got mine a few days after i did it once the promotion started.

  6. I wonder how many people will have logged in and then find they didn’t get anyways. This just seems the sort of thing destined to go wrong.

  7. If all you had to do was enter the eshop, I see no reason to worry. Just yank nintendos balls for the free games if there’s a screw up.

    1. If you see the notice in eShop News about the Ambassador Program then you get the games.

…oh and before that you had to do the latest update. I got the notice and opened it. I was thinking of not opening and carrying on thinking A. having it is confirmation enough and B. the news is NEVER anything of note…but I clicked on it anyway for good measure.

    1. and they obviously took the ambassador program thing off the e shop news cause the price drop already happened and it doesent apply to new buyers, so they just deleted the article from the eshop, but if u connected be for midnight of last night ur fine

  9. Anyway, even if I’m in, if these games are free, and I know these games are classics that I’ll enjoy of course, even so, it’s still disappointing those NES and GBA Virtual Consoles haven’t as many features as emulators do!! It’s a real real shame that the lack of features we read yesterday ¬¬

    1. Don’t worry man, I’m in Aus too. I just don’t think our country has gotten the notification yet, and if we have, it’s been removed.

  10. i wasn’t able to get on the eshop on august 11 but i just tried an update and was told my 3DS is already up to date. does this mean i’m an ambassador?

  11. can i get some help i got my 3ds first day it came out but only did the update to day u guys think ill get the games

  12. Okay, so I was on vacation and didn’t have any access to the internet. I didn’t find out about the program until yesterday. I never got a notification and I didn’t log in to the eShop from after the program started to August 12. However, I’ve logged in many times before and I got my system on the week of July 1. I don’t know if I’ve done the latest update. Do I qualify for the program or not?

  13. question… i got my 3ds from day 1, i used eshop a hundred times before aug 11, i receive a notification in the home screen about the nintendo 3ds ambassador program… still i didnt receive any NEWS in eshop confirming that i am an ambassador… am i an ambassador?! i better be, if not im gonna be really pissed… anyway… i tried also the tool that nintendo posted in nintendo.com… but it is saying the serial should start at “CW*********9” mine starts at “CEH********9″… i tried to post my serials CEH********9, and said im not a registered ambassador, then i tried to change CEH to CW… and wooahlla…. its says im an ambassador, what the heck is this… am i an ambassador or not!!! please enlighten me:-p
