Nintendo 3DS: November System Update For Nintendo 3DS Will Include 3D Video Recording

Nintendo has announced that it will be releasing a system update that will enable 3DS owners to capture 3D video footage. People will be able to record and view moments from birthday parties, soccer games and holiday events, or create their own original 3D productions and show them to others in 3D, all without the need for special glasses. The system update will also provide new experiences for people who have conquered all the StreetPass challenges in StreetPass Mii Plaza

    1. if you go on youtube you would have known that there will be a messaging with 3ds friends. you also would have known all of this like 3 weeks ago.

  1. Sounds pretty cool! More of a reason to have that camera there. I wish they’d add Facebook integration like on the DSi, that was a nifty little feature. I liked taking pictures with my DSi and being able to upload them. It can’t be terribly hard to make the add-on, the system is pretty powerful it seems, so they could easily make a multi-uploader for Facebook. A YouTube app for the videos would be pretty awesome too.

  2. Yes Nintendo! One thing missing… Facebook & Youtube support :( Never mind I’m happy enough this now has a release date after 6 months :D! WOOT!

      1. —-Here’s an interview from Iwata Asks—-
Shigesato Itoi: I have no idea, but when you take 3D photos and videos, is there some kind of capacity limit?

Satoru Iwata: An SD card goes in this slot.

Itoi: Oh, an SD card! Like two gigabytes?

Iwata: It comes with a 2-gigabyte card, but you can, for example, use a 32-gigabyte one as well.

Itoi: Oh, okay, I see. So you seriously can take as many as you want.

Iwata: Yes. Long videos, lots of photos, they’ll fit.

  3. Good. I was just trying to brag up the 3DS to some friends and they asked about this. Now I have leverage. Would be cool if it came with a Skype app, I mean there’s Netflix. Why not? That’d be a good selling motivator right there.

  4. Looks like we’ve only begun to tap into the awesome that is the 3DS. Keep it coming Nintendo and soon nobody will remeber how badly you botched the launch.

  5. hi there ro2605 your right i have a 3ds going use the video record for regular videos and will use a 3d cellphone with 2 5 mp cameras for the 3d youtube videos soo i will play around with 3d video records for small stuff and use a 3d cellphone for youtube feature

  6. 10 minutes of continuous 3D video with special features. A bigger memory card will NOT allow longer videos, but just more memory for more videos. A well-lighted area is needed to get the best 3D picture quality. Does anybody here know anything about this stuff? there’s more to it than you think once you actually read the instructions. Thank you nintendo and sorry for the ignorance of many of these people. It is up to Adobe if they feel this is a good business move or not. If they feel it is then they may create a plug in for the 3DS, enabling, not only youtube, but online games, such as facebook games and addictinggames.com

  7. Adobe has a wide selection of Plug-Ins available and possibly even compatible with the 3DS, to a certain extent. When you are viewing a site, such as Youtube, you will have the option of downloading the Plug-In and from there you select which version you would like to download. It will also tell you that it is unavailable or that you cannot download this, if it is not compatible. I’m sure that, in the near future, nintendo will enable this feature. For now, hackers will figure out how to enable these videos, it is up to you whether you hack or not, messing up your system and having nintendo brick it are just a couple of the hazards of doing so. Nintendo is not as clueless as you may think.

  8. Do not doubt nintendo! I know the price drop they had was unfair, but one good thing came from it, the Ambassador program. Exclusive content, free games, ambassador program updates, and more. This makes up for the extra money spent, and more :) althought, if you didn’t download the ambassador certificate then you can return, with your reciept, and get it there, or your money back (at least that’s how it is where I am at) there may be other ways of getting the Ambassador certificate as well, if you missed the special download. Nintendo felt bad so the certificate is available only to those who bought their system when the price was up. $90 was how much it dropped, but, from the Ambassador program, I’ve recieved well over $100 worth of games, and other content as well. Learn to love what nintendo has offered, they don’t have to develop, but for user satisfaction and enjoyment of the player, and business haha, they keep developing new features. Thank You Nintendo!!!

  9. hi there nintendo caped videos too 10 minutes or 3,000 pitures no matter the sd card size and gbatemp website has confirned that nintendo 3ds will suport 2 tb sdxc cards in the future thats 2 terabyte sd card currently amazon 64 gb sdxc card cost $45 and a 128 gb sdxc card for $149

  10. You guys need to stop rushing them with this youtube, facebook, etc
It’s going to take a while.

What I think is really stupid is that they made a 3DSXL rezlly nintendo :P, they should just be focusing on the reg. 3DS.

But the bigger screen on the 3DSXL will help (HELP YOU GET EYE SIGHT PROBLEMS THAT IS!!!! :O)
