Activision, the publisher behind the immensely popular Call of Duty franchise has just purchased the domain name http://www.blackops2.com, suggesting that the company is hard at work developing a sequel to Treyarch’s well received Call of Duty: Black Ops. Expect to see plenty of footage of the game at this years E3 event in June.

Treyarch usually tries new things every game (unlike IW). Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t but at least they are trying to mix it up

Yeah, I gave Modern Warfare 3 a chance… it failed. It had an excellent premise and it failed. This will be the same cookie cutter game as before. I hope to GOD I’m wrong but it will be. If you ask me all FPS should take a leaf out of Deus Ex: Human Revolution’s book, even though it was an RPG it was very much an FPS but it really brought something new back to the genre that’s bascially been carbon copy after carbon copy and like a copy of a copy of a copy of a once good VHS tape, the quality is decreasing and innovation is practically zero at this point.

Since this is Treyarch’s game and they have supported the Wii with the Call Of Duty games even when Infinity Ward were too afraid to that mean’s I’ll buy it if it’s on the Wii U because it’s made by a developer I actually like.

MW2 was the best COD in my opinion, you know why… best composter… story line… graphics… acting…
MW3 was different by music and the same as MW2… MW3 had no famous people (ETC: Sam Warthington) in making or acting as opposed to the other COD’s, music is completely different as it was a different scorer (MW2 had a famous scorer well known for many movies).
MW3 was still good anyway.

The composer of MW2’s sound track was the same composter for Crysis 2, Pirates of the carribian and also batman and also the Pacific. The composer is very well known. also there are some well known actors in MW2
MW2 had a famous composer (Hans Zimmer) and also well known actors (Lance Henrikson)
COD is well known for famous people sometimes. Sam Warthington was in the MW3 commercial and also acted in black ops.
COD series has some huge people in it at times.

Iam a fan of cod although I hated the first black ops…..I’m not sure what all the whining is about another cod let’s see how could they innovate the series? Better graphics and more realism is all I can think of…better graphics are fine but they have the gameplay perfected more realism might turn a huge chunk of the cod fanbase off because it complicates things one of the reasons it’s so popular is because it’s easy to pick up and play….I own mw3 and I see it as the game to play in between games. Right now I’m playing through skyrim and when/if I ever finish it I’ll play cod until ff comes out thanI’m back on mw3 until something else comes out I want but it’s a nice game to play in between because I get bored if I have nothing to play.

The domain name isn’t totally indicative that the next game will have the title. Activision is grabbing up every possible site names so that the others don’t, such as what happened with the modernwarfare3.com debacle.
Besides, I’m not entirely sure what time period the series will cover next. World War II is long done with, and there isn’t much ground to cover on the Cold War.

GREAT! Another retarted COD game! So get this. I was at the store and I looked at the back cover for the PS3 version. It reads “The best selling series in PS3 history is back.” I look at the 360 one. “The best selling series in 360 history is back. I wonder what the Wii one says? It reads
“The best selling first person shooter series in history is back.” I had to laugh at this.
That’s because the Wii have better games than X-box 360 and PS3 so CoD could not brag about being the best on that system.

I really hope they bring the sequel to Black Ops out on the 3DS with compatibility with the Circle Pad Pro. Black Ops on Wii was great, a lot better than MW3 Wii, in my opinion.

Infinity Ward’s COD are the same thing every time. Treyarch’s on the other hand is always trying something new with the franchise. I will be excited for any call of duty made by treyarch. If Call of duty were to be developed by treyarch only, it’d be great. MW2 and 3 are the same game, but black ops and WAW? Certainly not.
And remember, Treyarch made every call of duty port on wii, So if they’re making it, it’ll definitely be on wii u.
