Nintendo has revealed via the Kid Icarus UK Twitter account that Kid Icarus: Uprising will feature rocket jumping in multiplayer mode. In case some of you are unfamiliar with this phenomenon, it involves firing a rocket at the ground while performing a jump. This move allows you to propel yourself high into the air, suffering minimal damage.
Cool!
very Unreal style! cant wait.
Advanced Character Animation Feature (unity) if it comes out to a console then i want it for my wiiU!ive heard that to http://www.gametrailers.com/game/unity/14657
I used to do this in MP:H. Good times…
This is gonna be awesome!!! I hope it does this for story mode, too! I’d love to be blasting away and BAM I’m 15 ft off the ground.
This sounds like something you would do with the morph ball and it’s bombs in Metroid. This game’s gonna be huge!
Leave luck to heaven.
Is that “Leave luck to heaven” supposed to be a tidbit about Nintendo’s name roughly relating to that?
Yes. It the english translation of the word Nintendo. It’s my signature.
A beautiful technique created on an online game now makes it’s way to Kid Icarus. (I must Pogo Rocket….)
Sounding more and more like TF2 everyday, which makes me happy :)
Don’t compare a game that looks fun to a piece of shit please.
Team Fortress 2 kicks ass; Uprising looks pretty bland to me.
Just because you suck at TF2, doesn’t mean it’s a bad game. Maybe if you played something other than Spy, or at least knew how to play as a Spy, you wouldn’t get destroyed so much
Your comment sucks ass, bastard! U mad because Kid Icarus: Uprising is the only 3D game and it delivers it all in one handheld package.
A game which has a average rating of 92%, which is completely free, gets updated basically every month 5 1/2 years after release, and with an awesome community is shit? You serious bro?
TF2 a piece a shit? You must be smoking.
Rocket jumping has been around way before TF2, hell I’ve done it in other games before I even heard of TF2.
This does not work like that. The rocket jump is a power, isn’t it?You equip it before starting a match.
It actually depends what game you’re talking about. Some games have a purposed rocket jumping mechanism that don’t make you take damage and some that do.
When I first read that I was thinking Super Mario Sunshine’s Rocket Nozzle. Am I the only one who thought that?
Most gamers would think of Unreal Tournament or Team Fortress 2.
Firing water at your feet to lift yourself up is completely different than a rocket jump.
Yep, TF2 came to my mind first, too. Great game, and I can’t wait for this one!
The franchise have returned… as we are about one week away from Pit’s first 3D game for the 3DS!!!!!!
Smash Bros, anyone?
Hooray for TF2 element!
If only everybody ran at 40mph and you had multiple weapons.
Then again, Nintendo’s online infrastructure probably isn’t conducive to an arena shooter.
I CAN’T WAIT FOR MY GAME!! I hope the have a deadly good weapon in there, like TwinBellows cannon so I could kick ass in multiplayer with it.
