Developer n-Space has revealed that Nintendo “helped unlock extra power in the 3DS” which the developer could use for the “multiplayer features” which are prominent in Heroes of Ruin. Sadly there’s very little information regarding what these “extra powers” are but it could be that Nintendo is allowing developers to use some of the reserved 3DS memory for games.

“Bad, bad user. No donut for you.” :P
They probably just helped them with shaders coding
did you read, they used it for multiplayer purposes, did not say anything about graphical purposes….
The 3ds has 2 processors, but one of them is locked away and is used solely for the OS. However, the OS CPU has some extra power and can be used for more processes, whether graphics or features.
3DS has 1 GPU and 1 CPU: no one knows what they are clocked at but the tear downs reveal … 3DS definitely has 1 of each, that entire “hidden chip” is all rumor and nothing more..
i find it very hard to believe 3DS has an extra “hidden” CPU when its tear own only found one….cant have something thats not built in….
The teardown didn’t show squat!!! The only thing it showed was the 3DS was more powerful than what IGN had led people to believe. It had 128MB of FCRAM @ 3.2GB/s instead of 64MB of PSRAM (4x that of the original PSP which originally had 32MB)!!!
Wow.
Game still’s going to suck big time.
Trollolololololol
Thats what you were going for right?
Frankly, the game could look like Dungeon Explorer on the TurboGrafx16 and it’d still be an awesome experience. I WAS going to get Diablo III, back when Blizzard announced it, but now my money and time are all set aside for Heroes of Ruin!
Same here, multiplayer core handheld experiences are the best, Kid Icarus, Pokémon, Monster hunter, Mario kart etc are all my favourite games ever, so I’m really looking forward to this.
I want this to sell well on the 3DS so we get more rpgs on Nintendo platforms. I like the idea of the #DS having untapped potential. It makes sense because the system is only just a year old, I don’t think we’ve seen the best it has to offer yet.
Leave luck to heaven.
*3DS. Damnit.
this shit has got nothing on fire emblem.
The 3DS is an amazing piece of hardware for a dedicated handheld system!!! It’s pumping out 15.3M poly/s (more than the 8-12M for GCN…I heard the Wii is something like 24M) while using advanced shaders and such thanks to it’s GPU the PICA200. It also has 50% more RAM than the Wii that is running twice as fast! I really am excited to see what games Nintendo and it’s 3rd parties can do a year from now.
This article just made the game that much more interesting. Might have to get this game.
